The white guy armed with the AK47 killed two white guys not two black (shouldn't matter what color they were but to the writer it did). There is plenty wrong in the US that needs to be sorted out in regards to race, however not telling the truth and using hyperbole does not help.
Umm nope, I think Ian Smith was an idiot whose ideas were passed their time. Unfortunately as in many ex colonies the new leaders took over the worst of the old leaders and ended up doing the same things (both looking after a small elite which benefited them)
Zimbabwe did this to themselves. They were known as the breadbasket of Africa and decided for political reasons do do stuff which destroyed that. If they had taken a long term view of slowly changing the ownership of the land it would have worked, but a short sharp treatment such as they did hasn't. Hell even if they took the land as they did and had a plan to keep the farms going ti would have worked but they didn't.
Hmm really. Take it when you say that you still want the US to help after Hurricanes and when boaters are missing. Also you want their tourists to come, oh and when you sick to be able to fly over there for treatment. Of course there is also the chance that if you have kids they will want to go there for education, so that should still be allowed. So basically you no doubt want all the positives but none of the items you don't agree with.
The task force's mandate is to provide food so the population won't starve not to provide what people want. The only way the task force can provide perishable foods would be to make sure everyone has electricity and a fridge with a freezer. Government does not have that sort of money to do that. . As mentioned they could give out vouchers, but this would then mean people would not be able to buy as much food as is been giving out as the vouchers would not be able to purchase the same value as those being discounted. What the food task force should do is say if you are found to be abusing the system then you will receive half of the normal amount. If found again to be abusing it then nothing and that would go across all Government social services.
I get it that the opposition is there to oppose, but sometimes an idea is good. If this saves money and still offers the Children an education what would be the problem?
Yes i have heard of them. They weren't arrested for criticizing the rulers, they were arrested for leaking information (whether you agree that they should be able to or not is another matter). And yes you are allowed to protest, which is why thousands have been for a long time. What you are not allowed to do is destroy property, which is when you get arrested. Anyway if you want to prove your point, go to DC with a placard that says you hate Trump. Then if you are not arrested go to Cuba with one saying you hate Castro. Let me know which one allows you to.
Can you show me an example of that? I have seen plenty people criticize Trump and they still seem to be out of jail. Now try live in Cuba and criticize Castro, let me know how it goes
Hmm can't decide if the writer has a good point or not. He misses the fact that we all use Cuban doctors as we have failed in our countries, and Cuba provides a very cheap option. To say Cuba has been a first responder in natural disasters and not mention the amount of help the US gives after natural disasters is strange. I guess countries should turn a blind eye to what countries do in their country (though if they did would there have been any pressure on SA to release Mandela?), i know i would not want to live in a country where criticizing the rulers may well put you in jail. At the same time i agree the US policy to Cuba has not worked and they should think of something else.
