I don't care who gets it and if they make money off of it. What i care about is if the port is able to bring in more tourists which will benefit a large number of Bahamian people (taxis, restaurants vendors, Tour Operators etc etc). As long as the group that will do this the best gets it then i don't care.
And not having to pay into their pensions like the rest of us do. I am tired of having to pay more taxes to sustain this mediocrity and ineffectual Government service.
The privy council has not done that. What it has done is say we must state what the worst of the worst is and then use the death penalty as the law dictates. What politicians here do not want to admit is they have no intention of using the death penalty and like to be able to use the privy council as the scapegoat for this. Here is a link for when the privy council upheld the death penalty in trindad in 2018 https://www.deathpenaltyproject.org/201…
Trade is not just in goods, but also in services for example when a foreign tourist comes to Bahamas, this is international trade. As such pretty much all we do is trade. Now whether WTO is good or not is probably based on the person you are asking. For the poorest in society it should be. For the middle maybe not, for the top who knows.
Just another example of the don't care attitude Government and civil service have for everyone. Surprised its happened to this lady as she is a foreigner and normally they get a bit better service then Bahamians. But as i said our civil service and government are not fit to run a pig sty let alone a country.
Fully agree, and this is something people forget. Life is expensive in Nassau in a large part due to the family islands. This is why i think Government should say each island will only have 1 Government dock, 1 Government airport, 1 Clinic etc and then if there is a need others can be built. But having more then 1 airport for a population of 5,000 is stupid and too costly.
This is like that BEC fiasco in the last Government over the bribes given to the FNM Government. The Government could just ask the FBI to name who etc is involved and quickly be done. But no they need to cover their own. They will therefore pretend to be doing all this investigative work (which the FBI has already done), and then at the end name some scape goat (like Ramsey if i remember correctly). And then things will continue as is as the Government will feel they have done enough to make people believe they are actually doing something. .
Is this 30% difference based on the same job, or overall. If the same job then yes this needs to be fixed. if based on all the jobs woman do as against all the jobs men do and then divided by the number in each group, there is nothing wrong.
All sounds great but all you are doing is putting more delinquent accounts onto the taxpayer. I would understand if the policy was the customer had to pay the current portion plus some of the arrears. But if it is just putting something on the bill so it grows each month then no, this is stupid.
