Theres plenty homes on the market, off you go and buy. Or is that just talk from you. And yes every country can make their own laws and fees. But if they make them too high people don't visit so you don't make as much. Lets see how this plays out. If they still come, then great we have made more and people are still employed. If not we have lost money and all the people involved in that industry (it si thousands) are about to have a much harder life. Where is the studies to show that this price won't cause a drop in visitors? There is none as they didn't do one. They just picked a number and are hoping.
Thankyou, I was going to say the same thing. Nothing has changed even with all the promises. Every Spring they say they are ready for summer, then load shedding. Always an excuse but never a solution.
It just sounded good so Darville went with it. Just like saying whilst the funds go into the consolidated fund it will be reinvested in upgrading the public health system. That can't be as once in the consolidated fund you have no idea what it will be spent on.
Can't understand why it is hard to believe. This is Government. They never consult with anyone on anything. I think they work out how much revenue they want and decide the fee will therefore need to be X amount. They won't take into account any potential growth or decrease which may affect the price, and then wonder why in 6 months their figures are wrong and they need to change what they are charging. Then they don't even take into account the loss in reputation.
If Minnis were leader of the FNM, there are people in Marathon who won't vote FNM. He lost the general election then lost the FNM leadership and now all of a sudden has the answers. Due to the way he has handled not being the leader (after resigning and then losing a vote), FNM should ditch him. This will most probably mean a PLP will win Killarney, but the issues Minnis brings if allowed to run for FNM is too much. He had 2,501 votes in 2021 against 4,186 in 2017, so many in Killarney did not want him
Government does not have the brain power to work out how to stop those wealthy people who are obtaining the VAT back. Instead they go after everyone. This is what they do on most things. They lack the know how to go after those who are breaking the rules, so just try and go after everyone in the hope it stops the ones doing wrong. In reality it just pushes more to break the rules.
