It came from the fact we are recovering. There is no point using figures from 2020 and 2021 in comparing anything. Those years will always make the current year look good. Now the question really should be, if they are bragging so much about how much extra revenue we received, why is revenue still increasing at such a large amount. Explain to the Bahamian people how much extra revenue they will need to provide for the Government to start paying down on our debt.
**According to CSP Skippings, Green Cay is known for snorkeling excursions, however the beach has been temporarily closed by officials for such operations.** When did they shut that beach down. I may have missed it but there has been no notice on the beach or in the newspapers that Green Cay was shut down. If there was i am sure there would have been an outcry. Condolences to the family, unfortunately there is always this risk. As others have mentioned we need to get serious on disposing of fish carcasses. In addition some of these tour boats clean the fish when the tourist are swimming which is asking for trouble (i am not saying this is what happened here).
Food retailers should put the amount that Government gets from each product on it too. Same with the gas stations. That way people will understand quite how much Government takes.
The question really is how much was Government making before this, after all the costs were taken into account. If less then this is a win for government and therefore the public. .
So Mr. Dingman says "What we are proposing is an implementation of EP Taylor’s government approved masterplan for Condominium Site #2". Then later on the article says " However, the land is not zoned for multi-family dwelling or structures beyond one storey high and conveyances to EPL say this unequivocally". So which is it Tribune? if it is in the masterplan then approve, if not and its not zoned for it then don't. If you want to change the zoning, it should be done gradually, maybe to duplex's etc. But to go from one storey to 9 this quick is wrong. Either way not too worried about it as i'll never be able to live there, but it is the precedent that may then occur in areas i can live.
As many have said, everytime a crime such as this happens the commissioner (whoever it maybe) talks about being aggressive. Then in a short while there will be some police involved shootings and the public will say good, they should do it more. Then we all forget and then it happens again, and we start the same circus. Of course no-one notes that it is happening more frequently and nothing is actually being done to change it. The way we police is not working. We need massive overall if we are to make a difference, and this will be across all boards of life, from education to the police. If not we will continue as we are.

And rightly so. Why pay when you know the government will have an amnesty and let you pay even less then. There is no penalty in not paying .
