Pay them a proper wage, but also get rid of the mandatory gratuity. There is nothing worse then having to pay 15% for lousy service and then be asked if you want to tip extra. If the service is good then of course tip, but you shouldn't be forced to tip 15%.
If the taxi cabs used a sensible price method they might actually get much more business from Bahamians. How does it cost me twice as much to travel 3 miles here as it does to travel 10 miles in Miami? In addition the taxis don't want to give Bahamians rides, they would prefer sitting at the airport for half the day for a ride to Atlantis and then sit there for the next half for a ride back.
You give them your PIN? That is silly to do and asking for fraud on your card. You should never give your PIN. If this is true Government is in breach of their agreement with the credit card companies.
Yet again our useless enforcement of the laws will continue the downward spiral. If they don't get charged i am sure they will be a couple marlins lighter.
The outsider had an agreement with our Government and the government is now trying to change it. If we want 75% agree those terms before the outsider starts. Don't change once they find the stuff.
I can understand it needs to be done, but why not move the utilities to the side of the road when doing it, so if there are any issues you don't have to dig the road up to fix it?

So basically do not trust any agreement with the Government. Strange to do that whilst saying all this travel is to drum up FDI.
