It should never have gone through as there is no need for it 95% of the time. In addition why do all the studies and agree something only to change it mid way through. Obviously they needed a reason to increase the shingles and are using this.
Are they keeping the mask mandate for Kids to try coercive parents to vaccinated them before they will get rid of the mandate. I have heard that they have allowed some schools out west not to wear if enough kids are vaccinated.
Every Government has said this since i was born and the problem has only gotten worse. This is just lip service for those who want a crackdown. nothing will happen.
the whole idea of VAT is that it is charged on the full amount. That amount would include cost of good, duty and the profit the store makes (to be used to pay their bills) and as such VAT should be charged on duty. It would be a nightmare for companies to split what the VAT is charge upon and would probably end up meaning more costs passed on to the consumer.
It came from the fact we are recovering. There is no point using figures from 2020 and 2021 in comparing anything. Those years will always make the current year look good. Now the question really should be, if they are bragging so much about how much extra revenue we received, why is revenue still increasing at such a large amount. Explain to the Bahamian people how much extra revenue they will need to provide for the Government to start paying down on our debt.
**According to CSP Skippings, Green Cay is known for snorkeling excursions, however the beach has been temporarily closed by officials for such operations.** When did they shut that beach down. I may have missed it but there has been no notice on the beach or in the newspapers that Green Cay was shut down. If there was i am sure there would have been an outcry. Condolences to the family, unfortunately there is always this risk. As others have mentioned we need to get serious on disposing of fish carcasses. In addition some of these tour boats clean the fish when the tourist are swimming which is asking for trouble (i am not saying this is what happened here).
Food retailers should put the amount that Government gets from each product on it too. Same with the gas stations. That way people will understand quite how much Government takes.
