They should also get rid of the duty free rates places like Albany get as the whole places is considered a hotel, thanks to Perry. These people can build multi million dollar second and third homes over here and not pay one cent to the Govt. A Bahamian ca just about afford a $200,000 home and has to pay duty to the Government.
But thousands of people have got it and lived, and they were unvaccinated. Otherwise the deaths worldwide would be in the 10s of millions as we didn't have a vaccine at first. Why do people try and fear monger. If you are not vaccinated Covid will not kill you, there is just a higher chance that you may die (around 2% at most). Why not brag about the 98% survival rate?
I flew in a short while ago on Bahamasair, have to say I was shocked in Florida as not many seemed to care. However when i got back a Gentleman was met at the area you get off the plane and then him and his family were walked through everything. Including customs with a number of porters carrying their bag. You could hear all of us in the line suck teeth at that. Nothing will change as long as we bow to those in power and let them get away with everything they want.
I think the letter writer must not be good at his job. I can see the tourists around the islands. Maybe they just don't use him. Yes there is a downturn now, but its September and that happens. And of course there would be more tourists if we had no entry requirements, but that would just be silly (as it was when we did that).
