Really? Turnquest has always been a yes-man and has no idea what to say outside of party lines. No one is afraid of the FNM - other than the FNMs themselves! Minnis should have stepped down a long time ago, but it is only his pigheaded ego and those of his thugs that have the FNM in the misery it is in now. The only fear of the FNM is being too close when it implodes on itself.

Burrows should have thought about his daughter before he broke the law again. How would he have felt had someone, like him, had broken into a house in which his little daughter was home and scared her to death? Clearly community service didn't work, so now let's see if 2 years will help him decide how sorry he really is.

I'll tender a bid for next year's display and can tell you I could do a far better job than the tree wrappers for around 50k. That is all decorations from Arawak Cay through Victoria Avenue. That would be for all labour and materials (not the electric bill though)

Did anyone actually see this go out to pubic bid or have any notices in the newspapers?

Well, did anyone expect any different from Rodney? I've supported LBT though a lot of ups and downs, but I'm doubting this whole fiasco now. That said, I won't vote for Minnis or Perry, so there's not a hell of a lot else to vote for unless a miracle happens -- and I'm not holding my breath. SMT.

Ok, I get the cutting off for not paying the bill, but what is this crap about Brave seeing that some unpaid accounts get written off? All of them? Or just certain ones? Like maybe PLP supporters? Maybe I need to stop paying my BEC/BPL bill, then I too can have it written off.

Where are the consequences of not paying your bill? You don't pay, no lights. It's pretty damn simple. Why should the rest of us pay on time while others do not, but get rewarded for it?

I support adding diversity and unity and all that good stuff by bringing together the various groups, but surely there were better choices than Moncur? He is against wiomen and a fanatical religious but with no regard for reality (Against birth control, but who is going to raise all those children created by your shortsightedness, Mr. Moncur?)

And a complete unknown from Long Island -- who has no experience of things in the capital city? What will Mr. Knowles bring to the table? I'm sure he's a very nice young man, but right now we need strong proven individuals who have got a track record.

How about supporting the many entrepreneurs already out there? How about cutting red tape and making it easier to do business?

Honestly, every time Minnis opens his mouth, it's clear that nobody is home in that thick head of his. Dr. Minnis, who exactly is going to pay for your idiotic scheme?

DillyTree says...

Yes, I'm also wondering where Sandy Point, Long Island is. The Tribune is getting sloppier and sloppier in their reporting these days -- something easily fixed by having editors and proofreaders doing their jobs.

In any event, I don't see any of these cowards disrupting anything -- they will, as usual, get their little minions to do their dirty work for them. This is a family Christmas event for ALL Long Islanders -- red, blue, yellow, green or purple, so why make everything political?

And Mr. Dupuch knows all about fighting corruption? Clearly Mr. Dupuch doesn't know much about Dr. Minnis. Would Mr. Dupuch care to comment on why Dr. Minnis said nothing about his "fishy" meetings with the now-infamous thugs Toggi and Bobo until he was questioned about his dealing with them? In a transparent and non-corrupt government, Mr. Dupuch and Dr. Minnis, Dr. Minnis should have refused the first meeting, and not continued to meet with them and get free fish! Sometimes it's just the little things, but little things mean big things. Hypocrisy doesn't look good on either of these gentlemen.

Tal, you're very good at trying to stir the pot. Will your masters give you an extra cookie for your loyalty?
