Idally 16 is the best option.

However, from a practical and realistic perspective, there are many children who use part time employment to supplement their family's income or to pay for their own school uniforms and supplies. Until we improve the socio exonomic situation, this is a reality for many.

A compromise would be that those unde 16 can only hold jobs after school hours or on weekends, and summer when school is not in session. Otherwise, these children need to be in school getting an education so they can improve their work prospects.

And even at 16, jobs should be limited to certain categories and hours. These are still children and deserve protextion.

Reading through some of these comments, the sheer ignorance, intolerance and lack of compassion is embarrassing. However, it's not surprising for a country than can't even look after its women and children -- with domestics violence, rape and child abuse rampant. And we have the nerve to call ourselves a "Christian Nation" Only on Sundays...

I hope the lady finds her peace in Canada. At least there are legal protections there and medical and mental health care are available.

This is nonsense -- there are no bad pit bulls, just bad owners. A pit bull by nature is not more aggressive than any other breed. Do the research.

As a responsible pit bull owner, I go through all kinds of red tape each and every time I take my dogs to Florida for medical treatment, and jump through all the required hoops to do so. I cannot imagine owning any other breed than a pit bull -- they are the most loyal and sweet pups and only want to please. They are intelligent and quick learners, and are not typically hostile to other dogs and humans.

Is this the BHS's official position? If so, I will no longer be supporting them.

Let's regulate the owners, not the dogs!

More "pacifying the natives" talk from Royal Caribbean.

Please don't insult us -- instead poitn to a current RC interest in which the money and economic benefits are actually staying in teh Bahamas and benefitting the Bahamian people that goes beyond a few menail jobs and trinkets.

Talk is cheap. Show us the proof.

Blaming the drop in subscribers on steaming services is absurd. Cable Bahamas needs to look at its own house before throwign rocks.

Their services are getting worse and worse -- channels disappearing, useless channels beeing substituted (if at all), and increasing Spanish commercial and channels. Lousy service, followed by increasing prices. I'm also a shareholder and have not received ANY diveidents in well over 10 years now while CB continues to cry poor, yet cannnot offer basic service.

If there werw other options and competition, I'd be long gone, Cable Bahamas. Time to up your game instead of whining.

Rarely do I agree with Hanna Martin, but in this case, she's absolutely right. Our government (yes, BOTH parties) are always making noises that it's Bahamians first, but when it comes to cruise ships, big hotels and big money, the Bahamian people are forgotten. Again and again. Honour the deal with the Bahamian, and let RCI find another place to destroy.

The cruise lines bring little to the Bahamas -- our people are left the scraps of cleaning up on the private islands when the crowds have done for the day. Let's empower and support our own people for a change!

LOL! This is tit for tat -- BTC blocks Aliv calls and now REV is doing the same. Why all the crying?

Biggest issue is that we have no competitiveness in the country -- same old mediocre service by noth companies for which we pay a fortune. Open up the market and let it have free reign -- maybe better call quality and less of those Spanish programs. URCA, if you want to do something, this is probably where to start instead of mediating petty childish squabbles.

And thsi, boys and girls, is why digital banking is a disaster! Yet the government and the banks all try to drive us online rather than the brick and mortar branches.

Don't kid yourselves, the banks are making money, or they wouldn't be here. But I hold the government responsible -- they need to hold a hard line. If you want a license to do business in the Bahamas, you open and operate a branch when and where we tell you to. That we have out islands with NO banks is a travesty in this day and age. And, no, the damn Sand Dollar isn't the answer.

The US liquidator in Delaware needs to get in line. The principal lived in the Bahamas with a Bahamas registered business. Bahamian investors needs to be made whole first. Then the US can have him and whatever is left over.

If the Royal Family and the monarchy are so terrible, why doesn't Harry and Maghan give back their titles instead of trademarking them and desperately trying to stay relevant by using the titles? Don't they have anything else to offer? Of course not, ergo the pathetic moaning.

At some point, I hope King Charles strips them of all titles and they are, as they wish, ordinary folks having to make a living on their own. So sick of them in the news!
