LOL. What do plastic bags have to do with politics? Why does everything in the Bahamas devolve into a debate about red or yellow? We are talking about bags and I am glad to be rid of those plastic curses. My island is much cleaner and we do not miss them. All the best to you but take a bag to the grocery store, practice independence and social responsibility, and keep our Bahamas clean.
Cry me a river. Give me a break. Who does not have a bag now is careless and not bothered to have one. AML gave away 50,000 bags for free to their customers, I doubt Sawyer’s did that. And if you are too lazy and thoughtless to take a bag then ask for a box, they give these away for free.
Should be fired for his dismal record as minister of education alone. God help our poor country, only real option is between the extremely poor FNM and the absolutely horrible corrupt PLP.
As a shareholder in fidelity bank I am frankly tired of Mr. Bowe commenting practically everyday in some newspaper article about everything under the sun. How does he find time to do the important business of managing fidelity bank that we the shareholders are paying him handsomely to do? How about enacting the share split that was approved by the board almost a year ago? How about working harder on restoring the dividend that has been so drastically cut this last year?
How may billions in profits have these foreign banks repatriated over the last 50 years? The solution to this disenfranchisement of our family islands is simply the central bank should require as a condition of obtaining their business license that each of the major commercial banks have at least one physical bank in one of our less populated family islands. Also would Bahamians please whenever possible patronize our Bahamian banks.
Th bahamas GDP in 2019 was 12.83 billion not as this erroneous writer said 7.269. People should get their facts right before they write letters to be published.
Seems like your only response is to say at least Mr. Minnis is not as bad as brave Davis. How about demanding that the PM do his job and duty and face the press and the Bahamian people instead of hiding? We all know the PLP are lousy but we expect and deserve better from Minnis.
