Even if it were retro active, does it matter how many are affected?
They are already living here and have been for many years. Many who you have always thought are Bahamian will finally be able to become Bahamian. What is wrong with that?
She gave a reasonable background on the Darcy Ryan case but is unaware of the full story as to the advice first received and his decision to go with a lawyer who wanted to make political points.
Darcy Ryan would have got his citizenship much sooner if he had not been persuaded to play politics. His earlier counsel wanted to use a more subtle yet more effective approach.
She did not put the whole matter in the context of the true political atmosphere of the day. I believe that she did not do so because she was naïve of it as she was never affected by it.
Her interpretation of article 15 need to be considered with comments made by Sean McWeeney and Fred Smith.
I assume then that they will vote "yes" to Bill 1 as that will avoid Bahamian women having to make sure that any child that they have outside The Bahamas to a foreign man is illegitimate.
As the Constitution currently stands, that is what it advocates. It rewards the mother, and her children, for them being illegitimate.
Indeed, it punishes her, and her children, for having the children in wedlock.

Mr. Moore is one of the "has been" politicians on the FNM Council.
He is totally out of touch with the electorate.
He and the rest of the elderly FNM Council members support Minnis.
Moore and his old crony Council members are setting it up for the PLP to win the next election.
Mr. Moore, don't complain if the voters don't vote for the FNM because you insisted on trying to ram Minnis down their throats.
