Mr. Ambassador, you have provided a jobs program, in The Bahamas, for your many Chinese Citizens. Bahamian Citizens have not benefitted from this, Chinese Citizens have.

Baha Mar opening was seriously delayed by the incompetence of the Chinese Construction. This resulted in many, many Bahamians (about 2,000) losing their jobs and thousands more losing jobs as a result of loss of indirect employment.

In addition The Bahamas got downgraded because Baha Mar did not open when it should have.

Your so called opening was a sham.

This is not how REAL friends treat one another.

Kindly pack your bags and go home.

**“This team, however, will not allow the Free National Movement government to misrepresent or distort the record of achievement of the PLP government; will not compromise our sovereignty as a nation nor will they acquiesce if the FNM government pursues policies or practices that hurt vulnerable Bahamians.”**

Priceless! The PLP record speaks for itself as acknowledged by the voters on the 10th May. There is nothing to distort as it can't be represented worse than it is.

All the PLP has done is compromise the sovereignty of The Bahamas by its reckless abuse of the Public Treasury which has left the Countries sovereignty vulnerable (downgraded to "junk bond" status) as we have to beg to stay afloat financially.

The PLP practices have hurt vulnerable Bahamians more than anyone else can.

Where are the parents of these children? Not just now but when they are doing school work. How much parenting are they getting? How old are the parents?

Much of this is a social issue.

Economist says...

"Speaking to a packed church of FNM supporters, Rev Patterson said the greatest mistake anyone could make was to go against God."

The good Reverend should take his own advice. Oh Church, remember not to accept any donations from anyone who plays numbers. Oh Church, remember to stop all the Sweethearting (adultery) amongst your members, instead of turning a blind eye to it. Oh Church, remember that the reverends do not need flashy cars and all the trappings that you all seem to like so much. Oh Church, do remember to be humble.

You should be familiar with monopolies Birdie.

Remember the 20 year monopoly the PLP Government gave to Heineken for Commonwealth Brewery.

Maybe you you feel that foreigners should get monopolies only.

Economist says...

A very good article. The very persons who Mr. Butler speaks of deserve to be Bahamian Citizens, they have earned that right.

After all, they are already living here and, in most cases have been from birth.

Lastly, we cannot send them to a foreign country as it goes against the International Treaties that The Bahamas signed many, many years ago.

Good one Tal.

Economist says...

Now Tal, you know better than that. There are absolutely no parallels between this and the Hawksbill Creek Agreement.

In addition, you are showing prejudice when you refer to Arawak Cay as Kelly Island.

It is just on 50 years since the idea of selling off the man made island to pay for the Nassau Harbour Dredging, so as to repay the money borrowed by the Public Treasury for the dredging, was abandoned.

Instead you might like to note that it was the beginning of the borrow and spend, 6 or 7 Billion Dollar National debt.

It is just on 50 years since the then new Government decided to put up a Bahamas Customs building on the site.

What a good idea to be able to collect a car and get it inspected and licensed all at one time.

Got to wonder why there was no response to the proposal.
