Agreed. I have been feeding my family for years from my farm. Anything can be grown anywhere with the right implementations. Then there are greenhouses for those who don't want to toil the soil.

Maybe we need to get a Long Islander to run things at the Immigration Department. Perhaps then we wouldn't have an influx of illegals trying to get in this country.

Lol. Sorry I obviously over looked that part. In essence I guess we're on the same page.

I don’t think that this is about forcing or shaming local vets to volunteer. I believe what everyone is saying is that if the local vets refuse to spay or neuter each animal for the $30, then they should respectfully decline to participate and step aside to let the foreigners do what they have to do. Simple as that! The way I see it, the local vets did not want the foreign volunteers to come in without VMAB’s involvement, because this would show them up and people would cry shame because of their lack of participation in such a crucial project, that is taking place in their own country. I salute all local vets because I truly believe that they have been doing their part in trying to help defenseless animals in this country. But a person who cares so much for the welfare of stray dogs would put aside pettiness so that these animals can get the help they so desperately need.

Lol. It is the passion you have for these poor animals

Shantelle, I agree with you wholeheartedly. But you do not need to shout to get your point across.

Impressive! Great explanation without any biblical quotes.

LOL. I see you used the word "humanely" in your posting this time. This is a great idea! Many people do not understand that 99% of illegal and legal Haitians who live here frequently send monies home to bring their relatives and friends to live with them . They facilitate their entry into the Bahamas by any means necessary. You see, the Haitian nation don’t give a shit about the laws of the Bahamas, or even respect Bahamian people. Their biggest concern is getting as much of their family members over here as possible. Those of you who like to rant and rave about them being hardworking and less lazy than Bahamians are in for a big surprise. This was true one time ago when the older Haitians only wanted to come to the Bahamas to work in order to support their family who lived in Haiti. But now you have another generation who are entering the Bahamas. These are the ones who are criminal minded: They see no problem in setting up shop or a home on other people’s property or making a shortcut through your yard to get to their dilapidated village. The sad thing about this is that the government agencies that are responsible for this area are fully aware of the situation. But everyone is too busy collecting bribe money to care about their children and grandchildren’s future. We will soon reap what we sow!

Are they anticipating a surge of kidnappings in the Bahamas or something? Just kidding. As banker asked though: Why are they not setting up a physical office in the Bahamas? Well maybe they see this country as another slack region to do business, with all of the benefits without having to give back anything in return. Shoots-With the advent of the internet, you can set up a business empire anywhere in the world and not have to be on that location to do business successfully.

“The foreign vets said no just volunteer and they have said repeatedly it was not they that walked away”. Well that’s interesting: We have seen a posting from an excerpt of a letter that was sent to the volunteers of Operation Potcake by VMAB members. It outlined where VMAB members declined to have volunteers of Operation Potcake come into this country, during their vacation, to assist in the efforts to control the amount of stray dogs that roam the streets of the Bahamas. We have yet to see anything in writing coming from the volunteers of Operation Potcake to substantiate your claims.
