Like I said on a earlier post any work permit given out should have a sponsors(Bahamian/permanent resident) and immigration officer who approved of it name attached. So if there is fraud it is blatant and can be tracked to the source.
When it comes to weapon smuggling the police need to look for the source offer a plea deal if someone reveals who is bringing in the weapons it can't be more than 100 crucial people
I like how Brave says he is satisfied with the account like he is supposed to have any say in the matter. That Police officer either has been blackmailed or living it up. Am sorry to say I am shocked but not actually shocked.
Yeah these Private Health Insurers were already charging people a heart & a lung, now they are mad they won't be able to keep millions of dollars extra they earn and charge Bahamians. Now they threaten to charge Bahamians more for not making enough profit via semi-fraudulent means.
I think these Insurance companies don't realize people are about done with their leeching. Its good for once that the government is holding Private Industry to account correctly, because no matter what it seems like they would continue to try to rip off Bahamians and not pay a cent of tax.
Yeah having 1 RBDF to every 30 migrants is not a good idea. It only takes a good opportunity for a prison break/mass uprising/hostage crisis to occur. If a gun falls into the wrong hands I fear for the Inaguans safety on a whole.
There should be body cams for police officers and dash cams for police vehicle, perhaps all Government plate vehicles should be mandated to have dash cams installed.
The Defence Force needs to increase aerial surveillance capability. Without it, migrant vessels can sneak past their vessels and through our water. If the RBDF acquired some fighter or surveillance aircraft it could conduct low flying reconnaissance of Illegal migrant routes.
Allowing it to call out interception of any suspicious craft in the southern Bahamas.
Yeah, this article is built on a lot of loose interpretation. It seems like Mrs. Wallace, you start of asserting that being against Haitian illegal migration is white person thing, when both black and white Bahamians have issues with it. Furthermore, you seem to be taking Mr. Pinder's word and erasing the context because hard to tell what he was saying due to the half statement quotation.
You also fail to understand the reason why Bahamians in general oppose a lot of Haitian migration opposed to other sources. Reasons being it has often came via illegal means, it is historically consistent, Haitians come in large numbers compared to others, Haitians are culturally different than English-speaking-Caribbeans, and lastly this country's services/economy are under stress which mass immigration only makes worse.
Hence why Bahamians are very unhappy with Haitian migration especially compared to Americans. In fact to provide more weight to my theory, If you were to reserve the reception of a Black American immigrant compared to a Haitian it would provably be different. Therefore, it is unlikely that race plays into this idea.
Lastly, Mrs. Wallace I hate to crush your bubble but being black doesn't make you the same as others of your colour. We black peoples have cultures that maybe similar but are not the same to be considered one. It is white people, as well as some black people, in the past and unfortunately today holding onto the idea that all lack peoples are the same and came be addressed as such.
"African Americans", Afro-Bahamians, Afro-Haitians, Afro-Jamaicans, and South Africans are not the same people, don't have the same culture, have different accents, and have different national histories. It is peculiar and strange to believe that these groups are more similar than the white people who live right next to them.
To simply put it Property owners should not be allowed to let derelict & abandoned buildings sit up for more than 10 years. After 5 years they should be given a warning and inquiry for redevelopment. At the 10th year there should be a requirement of either forced sale(at market price), enactment of a redevelopment, or a fine.
It is especially crucial for downtown where have a bunch of historic building rotting away and eventually collapsing or burning down, yet the owner receive no penalty. I also think that the excuse for not redeveloping to residential is poor because there are plenty of cities that don't build 8-10 story building yet are home to millions. For example Paris, Amsterdam, Barcelona which have about 6-7 story building generally. So there is no need for our building code to raise, rather it seems that people should be held accountable for public hazards.
The only thing that is happening is the rotting and slow demolition of our historic city, at the hands of individuals who are careless.
