I think PMH should be given its own director who should be accountable for running the Hospital and accounting for things like this. If PMH has one already they should be front and center of occurrences such as this.

The Government runs agencies and SOE's yet there is no accountability from its management.

I'm pretty sure maternity leave is 6 months in the Bahamas. Maybe its because she has only been with her employment for under 1 year, which (don't quote me on the) I believe reduces the time allotted.

Perhaps, she just decided to return to work early which I agree is unwise.
Condolences to the parents and family.

Fun Fact: technically, Stephen Dillet was only 1 of 3 black people to win the Election of 1833. Making Thomas Minns and John Deane also first black parliamentarians. They are just lesser known.

Has this man lost his mind, because I think he has because as far as I know he had the same problem too. Yet, no program/policy from his government stand useful or viable in end the immigration crisis.

You know instead of stating the absolute obvious, he could be proposing policy to reform work permits. So that any work permit given out requires a Bahamian/Permanent Resident sponsor and a record of which Bahamian Immigration Official approved the Permit, this way you can crack down on fraudulent permits.

This was a bad idea from the start to give Royal Caribbean the land, as all its is gonna do is suck cruise passengers away to a remote section where they will spend money there to the foreign company. Even worse the Minnis Administration thought it was somehow conceivable that they could give the land away for 150 YEARS, who in their right mind gives away land for over 100 years on lease. Thankfully. they screwed up a tiny bit in under-selling Bahamians, so Toby got his little bit.

Although, If Pintard and friends had a choice they might have stripped Mr. Smith of his undercut piece. I can only hope as grace over these past decades of selling out, that these Cruise Companies start paying Global Corporate Tax for every island they own.

He ain't a "christo-fascist" nonsense he is just a fool. People who are so adamant against the "christo-fascist" turn out to believe that they are better than Christianity, and their values to be more important they are just mad that people don't respect their values.

Fascism and Communism are not known to the Bahamas and if you like to meet them keep it to yourself.

I believe that to be convict of said crime you need to have strong evidence, however what Bishop is arguing sounds like he doesn't want consequence for the offender.

I do find the idea of Marital rape iffy because it is a marriage, if you get to that point (of rape) it would seem that you'd get signs of marriage failure before said action. Even if you don't want to divorce your husband before, if you acuse him of rape you end up with the same result just with your husband in jail. For some necessary for other still a horrible situation.

So I just ponder will this bill change things because with rape it should require substantially evidence to convict, which will unfortunately make it difficult. Furthermore, some devious spouses may use the situation to try and slander their husband or wife. Which may in my opinion warrant consequences for false rape charges.

It doesn't have to be too damaging(like jail) however a fake victim should be required by law to admit/announce the lie if proven as well as restore the character of the slandered. This might be the best way to ensure truth and trust towards victims.
