The first mistake: "meeting with junior minister Bell of national security where he submitted to me a significant strategy to be employed that we want to be able to give consideration to and have discussions with the security forces of the country,” Mr. Bell has no clue and its blatantly obvious. - This is the person that you fire - first step. "It sometimes (is) not easy given the demands to do the things I would like to do" - really, the things you would like to do and not doing is where the failure is in the country - Mr. Prime Minister. The problems in The Bahamas is the people that were hired to manage The Bahamas, it was a mistake and now the country is paying for its bad decision. "And it’s a frank admission that we have to rely heavily on being able to have the strategies that are going to be utilized or employed in this matter to fight crime." - The crime in the country is the country and those who have managed the country over these years have created the socioeconomic failures that you call CRIME - it should be spelt failure. a country where after 50 years of management by the people; we have not excelled beyond what was left here by the British ...actually we have regressed. For god's sake, we are still using paper journals notebooks for official record-keeping.
“Understand and accept by that I mean that sometimes what you do will have an impact on our own freedom to move about and so it is strong as that that. We are going to have to be much more aggressive in this battle.” many Bahamian will hope your aggression in this battle will translate to identifying failures in your management of the country, and not letting a sometimes violent and abusive police force violate the rights of the public and open the country up to rights violations and lawsuits. Not seeing the problems in the Bahamas for what it is but resorting to overnight fixes where the problem is much bigger and more rooted socially, morally, economically and politically - creates a bigger problems and may put The Bahamas one step closer to what we now see in parts of Haiti and Liberia.
Bet the hell outta me, its a post from another news site ...on my end (before posting) the Muslim thing did not appear - maybe a glitch in the system. Also, I am unable to access the post to edit the Muslim thing out ...will call into the Tribune, please disregard that section of the post.
this all sounds well and good, and as one of the persons owed monies by Sarkis Izmirlian and BahaMar I find it necessary to ask the Prime Minister to consider his priorities in this issue and make an adjustment to the order of his concerns:
One, that there is no compromise on paying the Bahamian contractors who are owed significant sums of money on a dollar per dollar basis. (and that the building will sit where it is, as it is until Bahamians are paid) Two, that construction resumes as quickly as possible. (and) three, on the employment I offered to them.
I am sure if former Prime Minister Mr Hubert Alexander Ingraham was Prime Minister of The Bahamas today, this would be his position - putting Bahamians first.
Branville McCartney please, please! pray to All Mighty God to help you with your stubborn pride problem ...you are stating to look like the Side-Show with the man who has being crying for a million years see all your stubborn tears ...don't be saddest show in town. This country needs fixing - paramount! to any rational you may have. You young politicians must take the lead ...and set the right examples, leader or not. Your stubbornness is reflecting on you poorly my friend - man-up to your pride brother and go home ...go back to the FNM and help fix this county if you really care about this place. Or are you are just another opportunistic power craz politician.
Please don't remind me of the PTI (Periodical Technical Inspection) of motor vehicles in The Bahamas proposal. This was embarrassing and a total wake-up call for me ...the experience, trying to offer a needed and necessary service in The Bahamas, was one of total frustration where you have to conclude that the persons in position to authorize project must not have the interest of Bahamians as a priority or of any seriousness consideration.
A Bahamian proposal to fix the problems at the Road Traffic Department (at no cost to the Bahamian People) went unanswered. Now we are losing $$$Millions$$$ not just the $660,000.00 reported today, this theft by services has being going on for years at that department ...and there is a sense of encouragement by government official because nothing is ever done to fix the problems ...even if the fix is free to the country.
Island Capital Group LLC, Andrew Farkas, Sol Kerzner, the Export-Import Bank of China and China State Construction Engineering Corporation Ltd. - and The Government of the Bahamas must remember and include in any negotiations the Bahamians who are owed money for work done at the project ... contractors are seeking an injunction in the supreme court (to delay any transfer of ownership) until someone pay contractors.
CCA should pay Bahamian contractors as was promised, many companies fell for the promise line: that "regardless: you will be paid for your work" I was told by senior CCA officials that the company (CCA) did not have a money issue so payments would be make if we stayed on when it was becoming clear that something was not right at BahaMar. ...I do understand that some companies did receive payments (whose companies that were called on to work at the POINTE project) ...they got paid off for work than at Bahamar. I do agree that CCA is playing a game and using the BahaMar issue as a cover not to pay its bills - and they know that this government would not pressure them to do so. Paying Bahamian Contractors should be a condition to continue projects in the Bahamas. My company which was one of the last remaining companies to stay on at Baha Mar, before the Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in a US Bankruptcy Court was announced, still has out-standings with CCA dating back to March 2015 - and a want to be paid.
