It makes no sense until you realize that the primary motive behind all of this is grift. Billions in government subsidies have gone to pharmaceutical companies in the past year and a half, and they are ensuring that they have a steady supply of customers to keep coming back for their products. Drug dealers in labcoats.
I am very curious as to how many people are going to go along with the third and fourth shots. Keep in mind that most people only begrudgingly took the first two under the assumption that they would be able to have a restriction free life. Will they line up for a third and fourth just to eat in a restaurant or fly to America? At what point do these people grow a spine and just say no to this unnecessary medical apartheid?
Exactly. He is asking the US to put us on the same level as Canada or the United Kingdom. We should be grateful to God that we have preclearance and can travel visa-free that way if needed. He is looking a gift horse in the mouth by pushing the envelope.
As you mentioned, the US isn't doing it to be nice or kind to us. They are doing it because it is convenient for them. It is a flawed understanding of how diplomacy works. Nobody does something for nothing in return.
That being said, agree with him 100% that the banking is horrid in this country.
America is an upgrade for them. Pay is higher, money is under the table so no income tax, cheaper cost of living, they don't even have to live in shanty towns. Add in affirmative action specifically designed to help them and they have it set.
Go to a sanctuary city, you won't be deported in all likelihood. If you do, many "charities" and "non-profits" will provide free legal services.
What culture? Aristocrat, black & mild's, and trojan condoms? The modern Bahamas has absolutely no culture other than whatever hedonistic filth is pushed out of the latest "rapper" or "trap artist" from America.
Get a rat trap. Live like the people what you rule over.
Being born in this nation does nothing to determine your citizenship. What nationality is/was your father should be the only question being asked. It amazes me how so many bloody fools in this country want to sell out the heritage that our ancestors worked hard to build to a bunch of anchor babies. Go home and build a life, we are full.
You are pretty optimistic to think that it will end in five years. I have simply resigned myself to the fact that Bahamians will always vote for the same old FNM/PLP jokers, and expect something different. National hobby of this country is complaining without trying to do better.
There is no oil in the Bahamas to drill for, I don't get all of the hysteria surrounding this debate. Sure, there might be trace amounts, but nothing that would be worth commercially drilling for. This is a debate as old as gambling, megacorps performed the studies decades ago and found that there was nothing worth drilling for.
"The British constitution presumes more boldly than any other the good sense and the good faith of those who work it." - William E. Gladstone
With that being said, it is quite clear that both this speaker and the last have no idea of the role that they have been elected to perform. The Speaker should be forced to resign from their party as is the standard in the United Kingdom.
To be quite frank, the Westminster system is far too civilized and orderly for the calibre of politicians that we have representing us today, and it needs to be replaced with something that more accurately reflects our banana republic values.
That is until the CDC revises the definition of "fully vaccinated" to require a third shot as well (and then a fourth). Wonder how many Bahamians are going to line up for a third one just to get into America?
I'm also sure that we can expect more columns blaming the not so easily deceived among us for the death of 99 year olds in this country as well. Probably an editorial or two calling for those of us who actually have a brain to be arrested and thrown into Fox Hill to rot as well.
I advise anyone reading this comment to read a book called 1984. It is the blueprint for everything happening today.
Who would have thought that telling parents that they have no business being involved in their children's schooling was a good idea? Apparently McAuliffe thought as such. Enabling the mentally ill troons to rape children also probably isn't a popular policy position, but hey, being afraid of getting called a "bigot" is more important than children's safety in the eyes of the McAuliffe as well.
The real warning sign for Biden and Co. was New Jersey. American pollsters always under sample Republicans, but that result is way too close for comfort for Biden & Co. even taking into account the usual suppression poll shtick. 2022 is going to be a repeat of 2010, expect the House and Senate to flip red as well as several governorships.
