This is good news for the Bahamas and the FNM. Minnis should never occupy the office of the Prime Minister. To put him there would be like jumping out of the frying pan we are in- directly into the fire. This is such a strong move that it had to be in the works for awhile and I must applaud the seven and their supporters for keeping this shi-et underwraps. Hard to keep some kind of secrets in this town. That being said- not sure why everyone bashing LBT. Just because she is leader of the opposition in parliament doesn't necessarily mean she will take the party into the election as leader. The FNM understands how misogynist, sexist and backward azz this country is with regard to women and she understands that as well. We all lived through that referendum. But out of the seven - she is the strongest speaker and strongest personality the the FNM have and can actually make some moves over the next few months in terms of putting the PLP to the fire. She can fight in the mud just like them - word for word -and will force them to show their azz even more- though their pants already round their ankles. In fact Loretta and Rollins might be like Magic and Kareem over the next few months in parliament. Pure showtime! i am not sure who will emerge as leader, but I think LBT should be and will be the deputy. In my opinion, if she ain't earn it yet, as leader of the opposition in the house and the one willing to take the heat for this- she about to. The DNA has been quiet and so has Greg Moss... very interesting. Fasten ya seatbelt my fellow Bahamians. This ain't over yet. Some more moves coming. The PLP have shown they are tone deaf to the people - so they aint hear yet- the bell already ring! Its election season.
I disagree with you proudloudandfnm. I not politically affiliated and have no inside info but I am convinced that this isnt something that 'just' happened. This has been in the works since that farce of a convention or before. I am just sorry the six stuttered the first time. They should have taken Minnis down then. I am also convinced that this is just the first move in something that will unfold in the next few weeks.
That is not going to happen. He would be throwing dice and after two failed referendums, the march (and in it represented a hundred different issues) and BPL inability to keep the lights on he/PLP would lose and he knows it.
So Dames has been a candidate all of 6-8weeks and Roberts dem been in power how long without producing a fresh new idea? If they have held power all this time without introducing anything new and innovative (If anyone can think of something transformative this government has introduced, I am happy to be checked on this) I think Dames should have at least another couple days to come up with something! man these nigs think we crazy. They spout so much hot air, I am amazed how they don't just fly away. getting rid of these buggers might actually help with global warming.
What's your plan? Let us know what you thinking because people are dying and people tired of the stream of death. Wait-Don't tell me- you keeping your plan underwraps until election- Did I mention that people dying? SICK and TIRED of political gamesmanship. This is pure BS. FNM- He GATTA go. Take away his mouth like them Republicans need to take away Trump phone and twitter account. The present government has FAILED on crime and this dude want to become leader as a flickin conselation prize to incompetence just to deliver more of the same ole sheet. NO.
Dear FNM, With all that is going on in the country ya'll have a good chance next election. But this dude here - He GATTA go. I don't care what he might be or seem to you in private, but to Joe public like me- he is DUMB as a conch. ZERO public communication skills. negative zero personality. And when I say Dumb- I don't just mean the simple sheet he says like above, that bad enough, but this dude don't have one clue on how to get us out of this mess. His hands ain't clean and he has shown that he only surrounds himself with cronies (Lets be honest-Lloyd, Dames and D'Aguilar eeen there because of him) His clowning might work on a party level but on a national stage he is definitely in the B Junkanoo category, even as I apologize to them B groups. He don't inspire me to get up off my couch and drive to the polling station to vote and I know I am not alone. We can hardly get a word out of the shuffler who loves public adoration in power now, I can't imagine how bad it would be with this man who can hardly string two sentences together without Pintard or whoever behind him writing it before hand. And you NEED voters like me. I can't support the present excuse for a government, but I can't vote for him. I don't know what you can do at this point, but you better do something. Signed- Fed up with incompetence, but not willing to vote for someone even worse just cause I fedup.
The next government will have to do what we all do when we don't have money and our credit max out- Cut expenses and sit small. getting out of this mess of financial mismanagement and corruption is going to take a whole lot- including clean hands. We will be a failed state if the present government have another go at the public purse. Since the DNA aint saying much- FNM- your chances looking good. But I hope you have a leadership plan in place other than the present situation - which in my opinion is like the office of the PM just changing clothes.
