I couldn't get past the the dumb headline for this story. No kidding Sherlock! What a bunch of jokers we have in leadership. Not a good idea to be found among the bunch.

What happened to the 100million line of credit this government took out before the storm? Taxing the people should not even be a consideration in this poorly managed, over taxed country unless they are really trying to make everyone flee. People are desperate and broken. We cant tax our way out of disaster in a corrupt country like this. All the sweat of bearing such a burden would go to the pockets of a few.

You can have all the laws in the world- without enforcement- it won't mean sheeeeet. We are good at making laws and policies in the Bahamas. Enforcement is another matter.

We are not a sovereign country John - anything that says N.A. tells you who the hostage takers are.

This is a vile, ignorant, man. And he was placed in a place of leadership? SMH. This kinda sheet personifies unqualified political placement. What I hate most about the political class in the Bahamas is the way they ape Donald Tump. From Minnis down- Say something vile and ridiculous and refuse to apologize. Y'all make Trump look like a genius. Can't even come up with your own playbook? Dumb and boring too? We are finished.

Renward Wells should be ashamed. He has become a liar and tool of the government. I will always say- I knew him when. Expected so much more from him but no matter who you are before you enter politics, somehow you become sullied by the process. He has become as dirty and self serving as the rest. Michael Pintard? Quiet as a mouse. Depressing AF.
The FNM government has lost ALL integrity- if they ever had any. I never thought they would be much better than the PLP with Minnis in the chair, but I did not expect such basic disregard for the rule of law. Imagine one party trying to outdo the other in corruption? The more I read the trail of events with this Post Office matter- the angrier I become. What did we do to deserve these lying, greedy, dumb azz, fools? And then I read commenters trying to explain away the BS? These people are criminals. grifters on the national purse! And then I realize the alternative is Brave Davis and the PLP and I just want to go to the beach and swim away. The country cant AFFORD these fellas. Utter morons and no better than the guys too poor to get away with sheet in Fox Hill.

Licks2 you did read it wrong. He didn't survey the TCMall. He surveyed the Phil Building as contracted. Professionals are professionals for a reason. I can see things that others - not in my field - can't- on far less information. Question: Do you think the Phils building needed 750thousand a year in repairs? Thats how much we are paying in rent. No matter how you slice this- the choice for TCMall was corrupt and WRONG. Minnis can't even do corruption with sense. Anyone who sees it different is unpatriotic and a political party sycophant. This is a disgrace and he and Symonette are clearly in this for what they can get money wise and in terms of ego. My opinion of both men resides somewhere in a pig sty.

Greentea says...

Well- these two already write their script with the Bahamian people- but I learned a few nuggets in this response. And this statement had me in rolling in laughter- "Yesterday, Sir Franklyn said he interpreted Mr Symonette’s call for a national discussion on race as a financial commitment to fund the research needed to fully ventilate the issue." That will be the day!
