In keeping with the Govt's MO, the hype about Marco's law was simply a publicity stunt. Shameful that after the passage of the law its effect remains mute in the face of so much sexual offenses being committed every day.

I struggle to to complete a list of 10 laws that this government has passed that we can say has really helped this country.

This has got to be a joke. Extend work hours and instead of pay you give words of encouragement???

Haven't you seen the proposal? Poor people will pay VAT or have the law dropped on them like a ton of bricks. Meanwhile, the rich and astute crowd can pay their RPT if they have wish to, or not pay it at all. I am absolutely mortified to read what I have just read as being quoted by the Finance Minister of State.

In other words: "We dont have the resources or manpower to collect half a billion of outstanding taxes, so we believe the next best strategy is to implement a new tax and ignore the old one. We believe forcing people to pay their taxes on real property will have social implications and will impact employment, so we will go with taxing their food and haircuts at the barber instead...because surely that doesn't impact the poor as much".

These guys are a complete joke!

The Governor General is issuing letters to retired police officers and citing laws that do not and have not ever existed???? Surely this is criminal behavior, or gross negligence at a minimum!

You gentlemen are forgetting that a lot of the information that the Punch reported is proprietary and is protected by statute. The press must have some level of responsibility to ensure that it does not publish such information that is leaked to it, just as it is not allowed to openly discuss and allow commentary of matters that are before the courts. The Punch has got to stop!
