Tal, I agree that the FNM need to seriously review their leadership position but even if Minnis was to lead the party into the next election there are surely not enough gullibles left that would give the PLP another chance in power? If the people of this country vote this bunch of jokers back in come May 2017 then it will be the end of the country as we know it and we will derserve everything that is coming to us.
The speaker is no more than a plp "yes man" yet even he was pushed too far by these blundering fools and for once in his tenure made a couragous and honest decision. They will hate him for that because he showed a modicum of integrity. The administration doesn't like that ' cause it might end up being catching.
This trio are morally bankrupt along with many others in this administration. Imagine running scared from a thirty something rookie politician to the extent that they would abort their most important parliamentary contribution of the year just to try and stifle him. The Christie administration has no shame and that will be its legacy!
Shows you how desperate the PLP are that they would sacrifice Nottage's debate contribution and their leader's summing up in order to try and stifle Rollins. They even put their own House Speaker in an impossible situation. What a bunch of losers! Rollins will not resign and will be a thorn in the backside of this apology of an administration from now until the next election. Now it is time for all honest men and woman to stand up, organize themselves and boot these incompetents out of power at the first opportunity.
If Rollins is "dishonest" how would you describe the rest of the rest of cabinet Birdiestrachan? Let's see what fits: honourable, trustworthy, transparent, efficient, unbiased? Nah.......none of those. I'm sure the online contributors can come up with some suitable adjectives. But let's focus on Rollins being "dishonest" Birdie if it's what you have to say to satisfy your PLP paymasters.
Most educated Bahamians believe that if there is a political advantage to the PLP in prosecuting the alleged offender then charges will be brought. Most educated Bahamians believe that the AG is not the independent arbiter she ought to be. Most educated Bahamians believe that the "nolle prosequi" case dealt with by Minister Fitzgerald was an absolute disgrace to the integrity of that office. Most educated Bahamians believe that the failure of the AG to charge V Alfred Gray over his alleged political interference on a judicial matter, pretty shameful.
The only thing I don't get is why Rollins aligned himself with this party of jokers in the first place? Wasn't he aware of their history? It seems that Christie and his henchmen did their level best to stop Rollins from making his contribution but finally the pressure from his own conscience was too much for the House Speaker to bear and on this occasion he just couldn't force himself to do his party's bidding. For that he deserves some credit.
Whilst the West is preoccupied with trying to sort out the mess it created in the Middle East, China is breaking all the rules of the game in terms of breach of copyright and illegal hacking. It is increasing its strategic involvement in economies all over the world and at the same time building up its military and navy. There is going to come a time when the West realizes that China needs to be confronted but by that time it will be too late.
Perhaps I am just a cynic but I believe the Chinese government could resolve this matter at a stroke if it wanted to. That it hasn't could suggest that China would be quite happy for Sarkis to fail so that it can eventually acquire the complex by default. This wouldn't be the first time that China has employed this strategy. China is a country that is extending its grip on the world economy by stealth. It pretends to be your friendly partner (i.e. gift of a sports stadium) but all the while is plotting a way to control your economy. Has Bahamas taken the bait?
