How about we cancel all the unnecessary government expenditure lined up for the next three years (including inflated side deals for friends and cronies)? How about we collect all the outstanding Property Tax? After we have paid down some of the national debt with this money, how about we use the balance to fund the establishment of a crack squad of highly trained shooters who will seek out the criminals carrying illegal guns and take them out dead or alive? There would of course be a one week warning to hand over illegal weapons before the elite shooters are given the go ahead. That's the kind of initiative I believe the Bahamian people want to hear, not more garbage about holding more meetings to review crime strategies.

So that's five dead in 36 hours? If crime is under control, according to the Government, I wouldn't like to think what would happen if the police loses its grip! On this matter, when was the last time the Prime Minister addressed the nation on the issue of crime and what government intends to do about it? Instead of applying all its resources and energy into fighting this scourge, the PLP would rather waste all our time sacking Andre Rollins from the Gaming Board (big deal!), sending PGC to a freebie trip to Las Vegas, dodging important questions the people have put to it in relation to Stellar Waste and the Nolle Prosequi. This is an administration that is completely rudderless and devoid of ideas to address this countries woes. Shame on all of them.

Bell is stupid. He can only contest Rollins' seat if Rollins resigns his seat which he has no intention of doing.

Honestman says...

Fired from the Gaming Board? Big deal. I'm sure he is not in the least bothered. Davis trying to appear authoritative. Joke.

Tourism Minister Obie Wilchcombe, also absent from the vote, said on Wednesday the trip to Las Vegas will give Mr Christie both the chance to check out the SLS hotel before its operators open in the Bahamas as a Baha Mar luxury partner and allow him to review the gaming laws of the Nevada Gaming Commission as the government prepares to table its anticipated Gaming Bill in Parliament.

Sorry but couldn't all the relevant information have been obtained on-line given the importance of the VAT debate and vote? What a joke!

Davis should not dare to talk of Rollins "crossing the line". Davis and his PLP cohorts "crossed the line" a long time ago and have never turned back.

Honestman says...

My question for Rollins is why did he accept a nomination from the PLP in the first place? Didn't he do his homework? If he had looked at their history of mismanagement last time round he would have known that he would be compromising himself aligning himself with this bunch of jokers. By his actions yesterday he has effectively resigned himself from the party. At least that is one move in the right direction.

On Rollins calls for new leadership

The "investigation" was complete a month ago!!!!! Christie and Davis know exactly what went down yet they play this stupid game treating the public like children. This administration (I am loathed to call it an administration because that implies an element of competency) is a disgrace to The Bahamas and the principles of democracy. Why are Bahamians tolerating this sh*t?

How is your determination on the Renward Wells affair coming along Prime Minister? Need more time? Better not to rush to judgment!!
