I agree with BID. The FNM cannot take the moral high ground on this if its parliamentarians are not in full compliance. If all FNM ministers disclose in full, it turns the heat on the PLP. Therefore, the FNM is losing a trick here.

Dr. Nottage, your utterances on crime become more ridiculous by the day. Do you really believe what you say because if you do, the country has an even bigger problem. Stop treating the public like fools. If you can't say anything helpful on crime then better not to say anything. But by continually trying to suggest that crime is trending downwards, you are making yourself look foolish.

The FIFA World Cup is the biggest sporting event in the world in terms of viewer interest. It is an abuse of the monopoly Cable Bahamas enjoys that Bahamians are being deprived by CB of watching the tournament within the channels of the regular package. In 2010 we were afforded the opportunity to do so and Bahamian sports fans were entitled to expect similar coverage in 2014. Cable Bahamas should have purchased broadcasting rights on at least one of the regular channels to make sure the regular subscriber was not deprived from watching this worldwide event. Shame on Cable Bahamas for allowing this to happen. Simply not good enough. The executive of CB needs to act NOW to allow ALL subscribers to watch the tournament not just those who can afford the sports package.

The FNM cannot take the moral high ground on this as you rightly say since they had ample time to implement during their tenure. However the Bahamian people must continue to press for FOIA to be implemented. In any civilised and transparent society, it is an absolute requirement.

Totally agree!

Mitchell says: "I constantly ask myself what the heck is wrong with some folk in this country,”

Answer: we keep voting embittered egomaniacs and unscrupulous incompetents into government!

Honestman says...

You are joking! This is a one term administration - even long term PLP voters have had enough.

Agree Pastor but this ruling party has no desire to educate the populace. Keeping the people ignorant and gullible is what maintains its grip on power. Look no further that the country of Robert Mugabe if you want to see how this ideology can ultimately play out if not checked. Education is the key to this country's redemption but it is a long term investment and sadly this administration is more concerned with short term personal gain than secure the country's future.
