If the PLP gets re-elected they will take more and spend more. Nothing new.

Sounds like they won't be doing any robberies for a while! Well done the police and the lamp post. Sorry for the innocents caught up in this.

"May as well stick with Perry and his crew of amateurs".

I agree with your comments except for this one. The PLP are no "amateurs". They are seasoned criminals who know exactly what they are doing. They have systematically stripped the country of its wealth these last four years and distributed it to themselves and their friends. They are "professional" thieves and we are going to hand them another five year term to steal the remaining crumbs from the cookie jar????

Honestman says...

Don't worry, Perry has some "dead good" news coming soon.

Great choice for the Bahamian electorate. Come next May, we can either vote for a bunch of jokers or we can vote for a bunch of criminals! Lord save us!

This farce of a convention was proof positive that the FNM in its present state is unfit to govern this country.

Let's get this straight. Any reduction in the frequency of murders is welcomed but whether there are 80, 100 or 120 murders per annum is not the main barometer in terms of how safe people feel. Home invasions, robberies and rapes count just as much to the average Bahamian because these crimes are generally crimes against law abiding citizens. As we all know, a large percentage of murders are committed by criminals against criminals. That's why I suggest the focus should be on reducing armed crime in general and not just dwelling on whether the number of murders is up or down on any given month. As an aside, I believe the RBPF is doing an excellent job with the resources available to it.

The FNM has never been so broken.

Honestman says...

Forget the obsession with the murder count. Armed robberies and house invasions count more towards people's feelings of insecurities. New Providence is not a safe place to live for many and any drop in the murder count does not bring peace of mind.

It is clear from last night that neither Minnis nor BLT have the ability to unify the FNM. It is a fractured party but even a fractured opposition party is better than another five years of the Yellow Peril. The first priority is to defeat the PLP, the second priority is to find a better leader than Minnis. The second priority will be redundant if we don't deal with the first. I am not delusional, I am a realist. Any vote for the DNA, independent candidates or abstension from voting, simply hands the government to the PLP. This would be the death knell for this country. So right now the FNM is the only vehicle for Bahamians to use if they want the PLP removed. I get it that you and many others can't stand Minnis but tolerating him for now is perhaps the price we have to pay to get rid of the PLP. If the DNA was better organised and had better quality candidates, I might have a different view but they are not a real party yet and certainly won't be in time for May 2017.
