Mitchell would have served Bahamians better by issuing a travel advisory to all Bahamians and Non-Bahamians visiting New Providence! While the Bahamas government was quite within its rights to issue its advisory, was it really the cleverest thing to do given our dependency on the USA? Firstly, the advisory wasn't telling Bahamians anything they didn't know already and, secondly, it had no impact whatsoever on the USA. Today's advisory from the USA will almost certainly impact the number of tourists visiting The Bahamas. This will hurt us and for what? Just because Mitchell wanted to score some cheap political point over the USA. This was a case of Mitchell's ego prevailing over common sense.
It is time for The Bahamas to get real. Baha Mar will not be opening anytime soon. The Chinese has the government exactly where it wants. The resort will remain unfinished until the Chinese have sucked every last concession from The Bahamas. There does need to be an inquiry but that will have to wait for an FNM administration. In any case, it will all be too late.
The Loretta Butler / Duane Sands ticket is the best hope for rescuing The Bahamas from the clutches of the evil empire. Thanks to Christie and the yellow Mafia, the country sits on the edge of the precipice. Foreign investment is drying up, the rating agencies are threatening another harmful downgrade, we have sold our sovereignty to the Chinese and the Numbers boys and there is a real risk of currency devaluation in the not too distant future. THIS is the legacy of Perry Christie and the PLP. Is anyone suggesting that LBT could do any worse a job than the present administration has done since 2012?
Exactly what doesn't she get? You should save your ire for the delusional and incompetent Perry Christie, the man leading The Bahamas to the edge of the precipice.

I am not suggesting an FNM administration led by Minnis.

It's just happened! Probably the most lengthy Bahamas travel advisory ever issued by the USA. Sure, no fall-out Fred. Nice work!
