"False Hope and Empty Rhetoric". That should be the PLP's 2017 campaign slogan instead of this "Believe in Bahamas" nonsense which just sticks in people's throats.
Mr Christie also said the government is proposing to “reduce or eliminate” the duty on a number of household grocery items, including ..... macaroni, spaghetti, ice cream, biscuits, waffles, cakes and pastries.
What a screwed up administration! Just reduce the duty on all the items that are contributing to our record levels of Type 2 diabetes. Makes perfect sense if you are pandering to your uneducated voter base.
"Mr Christie also said the government is proposing to allow for the waiver of real property tax arrears for owner-occupied properties with values less than $250,000, which he said could potentially benefit over 41,000 homeowners"
Seriously, there is no hope left for this country!!!!
You have said it all Adrian. Can't disagree with anything you say. The questions are: how much more are the Bahamian people prepared to tolerate? How much lower do we have to fall before we say "enough is enough"? Why do we, as a people, surrender our power to this political elite, these thieves and robbers? Don't we realise that we are close to becoming a failed state, that we have only a very small window in which to save ourselves? Why do we continue to expect so little from our political leaders and tolerate so much abuse? Have we lost our vision of what life in The Bahamas could be like, should be like? Are we, as a nation, suffering from the equivalent of "battered wife syndrome"? The result of the 2017 general election will go some way to providing the answer.
We don't need to listen to the comments of Darren Cash concerning Hubert Minnis. The electorate can see quite clearly that Minnis is completely incompetent in the role of Leader of the FNM. For the good of the country, it is time for senior FNM's to persuade him to stand down NOW. The good people of The Bahamas will not forgive the FNM if the party allows Minnis to lead them to what will be certain defeat in next year's election. A new leadership team would however be a game changer and result in the PLP being cast into oblivion. This would be their deserved fate for their almost ruination of the country these last four years.
