The PLP's solution to the country's desperate economic situation - throw one big and expensive three day party and pretend "everything's gonna be alright!"
Typical populist pronouncement from the Prime Minister on a matter that is quite frankly way down the list of critical issues for the country. Instead of this bold statement why not declare:
No more corruption within my government in my lifetime. No more MURDER records in my lifetime. No more government incompetence like BAMSI in my lifetime. No more selling out to the chinese in my lifetime. No more stalling on freedom of information in my lifetime. No more selling out our youth by failing their educational needs.
Court appointed receiver Raymond Winder told reporters after the closed hearing that there was a “good expectation” the shuttered resort would be sold before the matter returns to court at the end of September.
Does anyone trust either the Chinese Government or The Bahamas Government in this process? This has all the hallmarks of a Chinese carve up. Any offer that excludes CCA from finishing the job will be rejected. Regardless of the outcome, I will be surprised if the resort is fully functional any time in the next three years. I live in hope however.
The Chinese government cannot be trusted. It refuses to play by the rules of International Trade, copyright etc. Bahamian politicians were greedy and stupid to have entered into "business" with them. The Chinese just love dealing with corrupt small island nations.
Why does the Tribune court this clown? He is an educated and ignorant individual whose public utterances disgrace The Bahamas. He is well suited as a PLP minister.

Hanna Martin has proven to be completely ineffective in her role. Time she was moved on but you know it won't happen.
