Indeed mudda, one rain band that built up over Potter's Cay and poured rain for 30-40mins. I'd hate to see what would happen if we actually got real "flooding" rain. The rain we got yesterday shouldn't be wreaking the sort of havoc it did on businesses and vehicles...
Take the guests out of the hotel rooms to avoid persons opening Balcony doors during 110 mph winds to take a selfie and cause wind tunnels in the halls.
Bahamar needs a better contingency plan than "find a shelter." High roller guests are supposed to go from "The Bahamian Riviera" to a Bahamian shelter? I understand completely if neither Atlantis nor Bahamar want guests in their rooms during the storm - idiots opening balcony doors to get selfies etc. And maybe the Bahamar ballrooms or conference center has too much glass and foofie design to be a Hurricane Shelter but they need a better contingency.
So if you're gifted citizenship can you then operate your own Commercial Fishing Business? Caveats need to be put in place barring gifted citizenship from certain industries that are meant to be for Bahamians only...IMO.
Cameras are a reasonable price nowadays yes, but maintenance and surveillance of them along with storage means for 10,000+ cams for a specified time period is also a big part of the equation, huge if you're talking about HD footage held for 30 days. Need to make sure the storage files are kept secured with controlled access as well.
True, the businesses that others rely on need to stay on top of IT security - Hospitals, Couriers, Transport and Aviation, Banks, Food etc. Its the responsibility of businesses that want to survive in this day in age...but we also have low computer literacy here and people have habits of just clicking everything, some still believing they won $200,000 in a random draw. :)
I think if you're able to make changes 1 million $$ at a time that's pretty good. Do the same in all the different ministries and boards, truly cutting the fat and who knows where you can end up. Good progress and something that probably should've been done 5+ yrs ago but someone had to do it.
