Apparently they are not aware that vaccines make no difference with the Omnicron variants. The fact is the world is not standing still or going into lockdowns or resorting to curfews to combat Covid-19. They are pressing forward in hopes of achieving some sense of normalcy. And getting schools reopened fully and children in a best fit environment has to be on the ‘to do’ list. Can no longer sit and wait for things to get perfect. Start something, do something and fine tune and adjust as is necessary.

In the US, when they want to destroy a politician or some public figure, (males especially),they would usually accuse them of sexual misconduct, not necessarily crimes and line up the victims one after the other and the stories would be more salacious than believable and maybe that's what gets the public's attention and support even. Here in this country the lean seems to be towards accusing a person of dishonesty and/or corruption. maybe because sweet hearting is more of a 'given" in political and public life, and, even to some degree in religious circles.

Some have no value for life and believe the right thing to do is to kill anyone that offends them. Worry about the punishment later. And some value material things more than a life and so they will kill to get what they want. And some link the violent and murderous minds to poor, unhealthy diets. Too much meat in a diet will bring out animal instincts.

Politics has become even bigger business in The Bahamad and many believe or know the quickest path to lucrative contracts is through the party machinery. How many are entering the race with a keen and genuine interest in making the party better and eventually helping the GNM form the next government of The Bahamas? Two things for certain; The Bahamian people do not seem ready to give up their habit of changing government every five years. So you can almost say with certainty that the FNM will form the next government of The Bahamas unless The Brave Davis Administration performs exceptionally well and the country goes into elections when there is a booming economy, low unemployment and no national or international issue of great concern. And/or the FNM becomes a party that is severely lackluster, unappealing or having some other major handicap like poor leadership.

First of all your argument is totally skewed and biased. If they allow foreigners to come from any part of the world and gamble, then why exclude Bahamians? From owning and gambling in their own country.A lucrative business, yes and one that more Bahamians need to be able to participate in and share the benefits from. If casino gambling was taken to a referendum both for allowing them to operate and allowing Bahamians to gamble do you think the referendum would be defeated? As for the legalization of marijuana: firstly this country is rampant with all forms of cancer and other terminal illnesses that whilst marijuana and it’s by products cannot cure, they can help in terminal care of patients, making their final days less painful and more comfortable. Also there are many patients who use these medications in their home countries and visit the Bahamas only to find that they cannot bring their medication with them or those who mistakenly do are arrested and have to pay hefty fines to avoid jail time. And as for recreational marijuana like illegal gambling, those who want to smoke marijuana are already doing so. The horses have already left the gate and to try to call them back is near impossible. So why not now regular it and legalize it and allow government to earn tax revenue from it? The crime associated with the illegal will also subside or disappear and the danger from consumers buying illegal and unregulated products will be minimum. As for the cultivation of marijuana, this should be strictly regulated and carefully monitored. As more and more farmland is dedicated to the cultivation of marijuana in the US and elsewhere, the value of crops will increase. The Bahamad must now move towards the cultivation of food crops on large scale with intentions not only to supply the local market but for export. Soil and climate conditions are no longer major factors as nee technology band innovations make farming more technology than labor intensive.
