Too bad persons are trying to politicize the corona pandemic rather than join forces to combat it. And this is a crucial time in the fight. One reason being the decline in new cases worldwide is slowing down. So what does this mean? Is there going to be another wave of Covid? Or is it just that the decline in the numbers of nee cases is tapering off? There is at least one country that is seeing a spike in new cases after experiencing over three months of new cases remaining flat and very low. Stay focused.

Reminds of the stories of when Bahamians use to go shopping downtown in Miami. They would purchase tv;s (not flat screen yet) and vhs (now dvd) players and arrive in Nassau to clear customs. Only then would they realize that there was no tv in the tv box but bricks or a concrete blocks and a piece or wood or some other heavy object in the vhs box. Bahamians would purchase vehicles in Florida only for the vehicle to arrive in The Bahamas with no engine and sometimes no transmission and sometimes not working. Sometimes a different vehicle would arrive other than the one that was purchased. And there was very little recourse back then because the average Bahamian could only afford to go to Miami once a year. And, if the seller was courteous enough to answer the phone, their first response is well bring it back to us and we will see what we can do.

.

Sometimes if you did manage to get to Miami, the culprits would have moved. shut down or changed the store name. And attempting to ship a vehicle back to Florida was next to impossible. And so eventually Bahamians avoided going downtown to shop, like many other Caribbean people and people from Central and South America, who were also being ripped off. And the Downtown Miami shopping Mecca dried up.
.
.
Many Bahamians today have never ever been Downtown Miami, and unless they have older people in their family who tell them about it, they don't know it exists. Many Bahamians also avoid going downtown, Nassau, but for totally different reasons.

well this marked the longest period with no homicides since the Davis government came to office.. And must not let up until the battle against these cold and sickening and senseless and tragic murders is won. Better a country lose the killers than the victims. R I P.

So if this extra demand for caskets just came about, why has the Tribune and The Guardian been publishing additional pages of obituaries since at least the early part of the year? Minnis abandoned the safety protocols and other treatment measures in favor of his vaccine agenda. There has been more deaths since the vaccinations began in this country, yes or no? And don’t try to argue that the Delta wave was more deadly than the other two waves because worldwide less people died in the third wave than in the two previous waves. The fact is Minnis dem treated the vaccines as a cure rather than a suppressant. A tool in that could be used more efficiently with the other safety measures and protocols that were already in place and other treatment measures for infected patients.

Cases have been reported behere persons went to make a trade or purchase after making the arrangement online only to be robbed of large amounts of cash. Others have purchased electronics including cellphones, games and computers only to find the items are faulty or not working at all. Then it becomes impossible to contact the seller or to get them to take the items back. And sometimes the items offered for sale are stolen goods. Follow the old adage, ‘ If s deal seems to be too good to be real, then it is too good to be true.’

Is there intentional manipulation of the Covid numbers. Why does it appear that whenever the Covid numbers decline, the daily numbers are not reported? For example yesterday the news reported that there were 163 new cases from Wednesday to Saturday. So over a four day period that averages out to 40 - 41 cases a day compared to over 300 plus cases a day in August and early September. That’s an over 70 percent decline in daily new cases. The number of active cases in the country and hospitalizations has also declined. And it is expected that after a ‘natural lag’ the number of Covid deaths will also decline. Not discounting the fact that these deaths were unnecessarily high since August and points to gross mismanagement of the pandemic, And not to forget declining numbers are being realized despite the country being 95 percent open. In their final days in office the Minnis administration seem to push vaccinations exclusively rather than other safety measures and early treatment for Covid patients . Persons who were supposed to be in quarantine were spotted in food stores, restaurants and banks and some even went to work as usual.

points to ponder: Too many people are becoming infected in their homes. These are usually older people who hardly leave their homes. And they get infected by people they live with or people who come to visit them. they didnt tell vaccinated people to wear masks in the home or if they live with older people who are not vaccinated. The vaccines suppress the disease and the symptoms. So whilst a vaccinated person may not get severely ill, they can pass the virus on to others.
.

too many people are getting infected in the hospitals. Many go in for minor surgery on non-life threatening illnesses and die from covid. One school distract in the US had 6,000 students in quarantine just a few days after school re-opened. They had required that all teachers and other school employees be vaccinated. So the kids caught the virus and took it home to other family members, some older ones who died. So the schools had to close and go to virtual classes, until they figure out a safe vaccine for the school children. Does the same thing happen in hospitals?

is there too much partying in the country still? Minnis says the numbers increased because Davis relaxed the curfew hours. But the 14-day window since the curfew hours have been shortened has not yet passed. And, as a matter of fact, the number of new cases have been declining over the past few days. So the surge from the election and the campaigning is obvious.

DR Anthony Fauci (who's credibility is incredible) now says persons who take the John and Johnson "one shot" vaccine must now take a second shot. He says data shows the efficacy rate of the 'one shot' vaccine drops from 90 percent to 40 percent after four months. And the data shows that the vaccine should be two shots and not just one. but fauci reccomends that those who take a second shot Should NOT take J&J but one of the other brands, Moderna or Pfizer.

Colin Powell, a former US secretary of Defense, died over the weekend from complications related to Covid. He was 84years old and he fully vaccinated. A great human being, May he rest in peace.

It is very sad that Hubert Minnis is trying to politicize the Covid pandemic when it is so tragic as many Bahamians and peoples around the world are falling ill to the virus and many are losing their lives, or seeing and experiencing family members coworkers and loved ones lose their lives in numbers unprecedented in this lifetime.
..
.

The cold, hard facts are Covid-19 numbers around the world have been on the decline for at least two months and so have the number of deaths. Another easily verifiable fact is that The Bahamas lost more lives to Covid-19 in recent days than some countries have lost since the pandemic began. The fact is the pandemic response in this country has been grossly mismanaged in the last few months, Grossly so. And whilst Minnis (and Duane Sands) now attempt to point fingers and cast blame a lot of the mismanagement was under their administration.
.
.
Start with the availability of vaccines in the country. Minnis both as prime minister and the competent authority threw caution to the wind saying vaccinated people didn't have to wear masks, they could have indoor dining and they can have family gatherings as long as everyone attending were vaccinated. He then went on to allow foreigners and including tourists to come into the country without being tested. Some were required to take tests after entering the country, but this never happened as some never showed up to be tested and they could not be located by local authorities. the science and the number of new cases and increased deaths proved these were gross and deadly errors.
.
.Then came Minnis 'snap election,' The first thing he holler out was, " only vaccinated people could campaign.' This may have been good in principle, but even Blind Blake could see that most of the people campaiging and carousing were not vaccinate. In all the camps, do some parties has less crowds and more order. And so the not only gathered in Nassau and on Free[port but flew to many Family Islands. Super spreader events for sure. And then came the election. The early polls was a total disaster. No sense of order and huge and unruly crowds at times. The main election was much better and more orderly but many people stayed away for fear of contracting the virus and based on what they saw of the early polls. And the science will confirm that many of the new cases and deaths being witnessed today stems from the election and the related campaigning. plus at least two other factors.

with a house that size maybe now he should look towards solar power. he has enough roof space to put in a system that can run his appliances and a water pump and can add on battery storage as needed. Many had the experience of having to pay BPL for underground cable or light poles. They bill you for them, then in a few months you see five and six other homes connected to the same pole. Then BPL says 'since you were the first one requiring electricity, you have to bear the full cost of the infrastructure. ' Sometimes they suggest you get other residents to reimburse you for the poles but you find out someone from BPL has already made a deal with them which includes, :getting ya power connected right away.' Bite the bullet and try solar for now.
