And should we forget that a high ranking person in this country is somewhat compromised in certain situations?

Three things are patently obvious in these two recent police murders. One, police have been given the greenlight to shoot and kill certain individuals whenever and wherever they come across them. Two, Body-cams and/or public witnesses will not matter as no proper inquiry will be done where witnesses are called and/or evidence,
Including body-cam footage is presented. Three, the police, at least in their last two murders, have altered their narrative to now say the suspect/victims ‘came at them at a high rate of speed AND had a weapon. And if you believe that, you also believe Tiger Woods’ accident was really an accident. Four, the high incidence of illegal weapons on the streets in this country is not coincidental . If police can find a half a spliffHidden in someone’s drawers
Why can’t they find who is bringing the weapons, Especially the High powered ones into the country? There is one other country that target young, black men and accuses them of being armed and/or resisting. The victim almost always ends up dead after being shot, strangled Or somehow fatally injured by police. Even persons having mental challenges and conditions were murdered by police after the police were called to assist when the patient was having a mental seizure. How involved is this other country involved in policing in this Bahamas? How long will the country continue to be fed ‘milk’ about policing irregularities that is obviously abnormal and requires further investigations and clear accountability? What if there is a case of mistaken identity? Must the family endure the loss and live forever without closure? At least in the US there are civil and human rights organizations that demand and in many cases bring police officers snd dep and departments to account. How dangerous and counterproductive is it to have a police force that is not accountable for its actions, including possible murder?

Someone close to Customs said if Customs was to set up a secondary checkpoint and examine containers leaving the dock for a month, he can guarantee Customs revenue will double. He says some of the biggest businesses are involved in smuggling but, like most things in government, the focus is on the small man. And some of the businesses involved are owned by persons who are attached to high ranking officials in government. Both parties. One may say this is just false speculation or foolish gossip but if one was to go a bit further to examine some facts. Even when the importation of asks were banned by the PM,’to protect the local industry,‘these masks were available at certain businesses and from street vendors. Some products sold by certain nationalities in this country, including toothpaste and female hygiene products are known to be fake. Some are so poorly made and cheaply made, their packaging fall apart on the store shelves. Now this nationality is moving heavily into the liquor market and distributors fir some popular labels claim that many of the products sold on the local market are not distributed by them. Then move on to the area parts market...

The Bahamian people wishing Mr Ingraham a full and speedy recovery. His infection is a clear indication that
The pandemic is not over and not only is the disease still here, but there is a high risk of persons who travel bringing nee strains of the virus back. And some of the covid ambassador team needs to be deployed to popular tourist areas. Many can be seen walking in groups with no masks.

On Former PM Hubert Ingraham has COVID-19

Minnis is fighting a tough and fierce and courageous battle. A few fallen or injured soldiers does not mean defeat. Far from it.

You sound rather dull and uninformed. Many of the most qualified candidates do not iffy for election. Simply because of the nature of politics where, if they really want you, they will drag you and your family and friends through the mud and the sewer. Secondly many qualified people do not have the time and energy front line politics demand. And many do not condone the freebies and give aways front line politics now demand in this here country.

And because police are not properly investigated, the Bahamian people will never know what actually happened. And bet your NIB check that NONE of the officers present were wearing a body camera.

Today this country must distinguish the difference between political corruption and political culture. Not defending anyone but saying Peter is no worse than Brent. Crude oil, that is,that continues to increase in price despite consumption being at its lowest level in decades and there being no short supply. But yes, political culture may allow some people to get elected, get to become a member of the cabinet, fix he and he family businesses right up, then resign he post. Others trying to do the same thing but using a different route will be called dishonest, corrupt and accused of tiefin the people’s money. Does the Bahamian people accept all or reject all or accept some and reject some? During the last Commission of Inquiry, the bag man was quoted as saying ‘he come to collect for da chief.’ The chief was never specifically identified in that instance, but common sense dictates that the chief must hold the highest office, if not, the highest office. And since Hubert Minnis ran on the premis that corruption runs high in this nation and with the promise that he will use every effort to stamp it out, he must be seen as to not tolerate corruption w:or dishonesty in the least. And based on his own figures of 45%, he may stand to lose almost half his cabinet and elected MP’s if due deligence is done. And, of course, this must include persons who came from the side opposite, who were fired or resigned or forced to resign, but are now members of the Minnis’s cabinet. Justice must not only be done, but be seen to be done.

Corona cases worldwide are at their lowest level since May of 2020 and continue to plunge even in the absence of the vaccines. Obviously the Covid-19 virus has made its sojourn around the earth and is now making its exit off the planet. BUT vaccine manufacturers are preparing to ramp up their production and make more doses of the vaccines available by June. Obviously by then the virus will have mostly disappeared only leaving trails and small numbers of infection here and there. And some Brave (no, not Davis), brave souls, are being required to take a third dose of the vaccine, because it was discovered that at least one of the previous doses may have lost its 72 * F below zero storage temperature and became ‘spoiled’ it ineffective. So what challenge will the Bahamian government face in getting these vaccines to the Family Islands and getting the vaccines administered before they lose temperature? How cool is injecting someone with a substance that is 72*F below zero? Or thereabouts?
