This is the largest mass shooting in the history of The Bahamas. seventeen victims! And even tho there had been no fatalities yet, some victims are still in critical condition. And the possibility of more attacks. And while some bloggers tend to blame the victims, how can one justify such a mass shooting with so much ignorance? Residents in Montell Heights should have just as much rights to attend a party as persons in Lyford Cay or Old Fort Bay. And safely so. Especially if they are not involved in any criminal activity. The victims were mostly women along with four children. And so the focus should be on the shooters. Their mothers or children could also been in the party crowd. But they(the shooters) are probably such cold, blooded animals it would not have mattered. And hopefully they will be caught with rapid speed and get the stiffest penalty.
Maybe we learnt that from our slave masters. To brutalize and torture our children And when beatings were not successful massa (your forefathers concerned citizen) resorted breaking up the family mercilessly and without emotion selling them like a farm crop but with despise, then to lynchings and hangings. I’m sure your rember massa. Sir, yess Sir! Das wat your forefathers done did!
Both Aliv and BTC have outsourced their Top Up services to companies outside the Bahamas. A service that was previously done by Bahamians. So the funds have t be deposited directly into the banks and the bulk of this money leaves the country. Bahamians are only involved on the retail end where they get 6 cents on the dollar. If the Top-Up goes to a wrong number those funds are taken out of the retailer's bucket. This may sound trivial but sometimes a top-up of say $50.00 may be sent. It goes to a number that is not in services and both providers will not reverse the transaction. So they benefit by $50.00 while the retailer loses out.
#Revealing that Aliv’s subscriber base has now hit 150,000 customers based on a 60-day subscriber ‘churn’ cycle, he said: “We have a very clear handle on our plan and what we need to do. We’ve taken a debt level for the business that we think is appropriate given its needs and where we will grow to in the future.
*Simply put, customer churn occurs when customers or subscribers stop doing business with a company or service. Also known as customer attrition, customer churn is a critical metric because it is much less expensive to retain existing customers than it is to acquire new customers – earning business from new customers means working leads all the way through the sales funnel, utilizing your marketing and sales resources throughout the process. Customer retention, on the other hand, is generally more cost-effective as you’ve already earned the trust and loyalty of existing customers.*
So basically Aliv's strategy is to recycle customers rather than to gain them permanently. So they give away the handsets and the bonus minutes and data to churn revenue. But what happens when this strategy gets played out. will customers return home to BTC? Of course since Aliv was the new kid on the block, it was easier for them to attract new customers. So are you are saying 50% of everyone that goes to work every morning get into a car accident? Are you saying that 50% of all police officers that show up to work every day will not go back home? gross exaggeration. On the other hand, the nature of sharks has been changed. Sharks were first curious of humans then they would swim away. But now they associate humans with being fed And when this does not happen, they attack. Sharks are predators and seasoned divers know you are to show them respect and never try to get to close or become friends. Show them respect and get away at the first opportunity.

At least the government seems to be awakening to the fact that the small, struggling vendors are just as important as the large multinational companies like a Bah Mar or an Atlantis. They also need government support. And it a sense of maturity and hopefully a recognition of this fact that the government has reached out to these vendors in hopes of not only rebuilding their businesses but taking them to a better and higher level. Which country can you go to and see that the local citizens and prohibited from participating in the local economy whilst foreign-owned businesses flourish?
