The only way to make sense of this is if the report also indicated how many VAT registered businesses shut down or ceased to operate post-2016, basically for failure to generate a profit or at least breaking even. Businesses were misinformed about the real effects of VAT on their businesses prior to vat being implemented. They were told that VAT was a pass thru expense that will be paid by the consumer and recovered when items were sold. But the method by which government calculates the VAT sums up to more than the 7.5% businesses are trying to recover at the end. Then there are accounting and compliance costs that businesses must account for. Even if owners are keeping their own books, there is a cost associated with it. And the Vat requires maintaining of records for a five year period as well as a POS system that keeps data for 5 years and giver receipts. Some businesses never operated like this so they had to purchase new equipment and must now maintain it.

The minimum wage was raised by 40% about two years ago resulting in a corresponding increase in National Insurance a portion of which had to be paid by businesses. Many haven't yet recovered from this increase and to even suggest additional burden on businesses is like nailing up their door and digging a trench across the parking lot. Understandable is the fact that more persons are on treatment for AIDS but their habits remain unchanged. So the infection rate will continue to skyrocket.

Well you cannot answer the question about what the royal wedding represents (to black people) without understanding what Batak Obama represented to Black people, or the world in general when he was elected and the aftermath of his presidency #Donaldtrump. It was not long into his presidency that many realized that Obama was a token (Black) president who had to answer to masters other than who was of his same skin tone. And so the pressure became double in that Black Americans realized they had to do for themselves more than ever, while supporting a president who was restricted in his ability. They still had to ensure he did not fail. Then Trump came along, not only with an agenda to undo all that Obama’s had accomplished but he reopened the flood gates for all the hate groups to relaunch their wars and attacks on Black Americans. This includes police who are arresting (and shooting and yes, killing young Black men, and now even women) for the slightest of infractions. The royal wedding is, in a way, Britain’s equilivant of a Black US president. Since the prince is sixth removed from the throne the marriage is more symbolic since neither he of his new wife will have no real powers. And the public is treating it as such. Yes it’s great that it happened but at the end of the day, the hustle is still real.
