And another factor that comes into play is the ‘seniority ‘ structure of the Force. An officer can achieve rank rather quickly but after officers gain a wealth of knowledge and experience, they are almost forced into retirement because there is only one Commodore and the force will become top Heavy. So the creation of mini bases in Inagua, Exuma Grand Bahama and even Abaco may allow the force to spread its talent around and hold on to its senior and more experienced officers longer.

When the cruise ships arrive at Nassau Harbor, a Bahamian captain boards the vessel and with the assistance of tug boats, safely navigates the ship to its docking pier. The same thing happens when the ships are leaving the harbor and probably happens in every port the ship visits. Most of the damage happens to the Defense Force vessels either when they are in shallow water or leaving or entering port. Well some may argue that that is only logical since there is nothing out there on the ocean for these vessels to collide with and become damaged. So then the Force may need to change its protocol for ships entering and leaving the base or operating in shallow water. Of course speed is almost always a factor. And the slower a vessel is when it collided or hits a reef, the less likely the damage. And at the airports major aircraft are hooked up to a tractor that pushes the aircraft away from the gate then slowly pulls it toward the runway. Only then are the jets engines started and it goes on its way. So maybe in the absence of more competent captains and capable crew, the Defense Force needs to invest in small ‘run arounds’ to assists it’s larger ships in and out of harbour.

One must wonder when they day will come when the storage and washing of all seafood will be banned on Potters Cay and surrounding areas The threat from boats on the dock dumping raw sewerage into the water alone is bad but a lot from the marinas on the nearby paradise Island makes the situation even worse. And eventually cruise ships will have to be moniterd for duping untreated human wast in the ocean.

No amount of Education can replace those few years children spend home with parents before beginning that 12 year journey through the school system and beyond And parents should not let the so called experts to lose that single bonding opportunity To become what Educated Fools? zombies even, devoid of all feelings, qualities and natural affection of a human being. WHY kick a bird out of the nest before he is ready to fly. More education does not guarantee a better quality of life or even more success. And, in fact, studies are showing that adult children are choosing to stay in their parents home longer some even after getting married and starting families of their own. The extended family with more in house interaction and bonding The the set who don't go out and shoot up schools or work places Why does it always seem that we have to be in a hurry to go somewhere? The world is not getting bigger In fat is is growing easier and faster to navigate It is cruel to rob children of their infancy and parents of their infants, Mr. Minister

Some are trying to give the impression that the prime minister cannot walk and chew gum at the same time. When Hubert Ingraham became prime minister he was hoodwinked into allowing a Greek Bahamian to return to the Bahamas without persecution even after he fled the country to escape justice. And now decades later this may not have been a good choice as the individuals behavior shows ha had no remorse for the killings. And when the BTC sale went through it was only after the company was resold to a third entity did the real value of the company become known. Under the former government there were agreements being entered into that were not in the best interest of the Bahamian people and they cost then Hundreds of Millions. There were ‘invisible ‘, third forces that tried to force the government to change laws affecting change to things Bahamians hold sacred. Opposition to same sex marriage, patriarchal relationships and immigration. So Minnis has the right to take his time making decisions. Continue to demonstrate you are acting on his own free will and in the best interest of the Bahamian people.

And then there is Donald Trump Despite his near suicidal tax cuts, the US economy i right where Barak Obama left it if not sliding somewhat backwards. What has Donald trump accomplished in 14 months. He did play roller coaster with stock market, bombed Syria, partially dismantled Obamacare with no viable replacement, Threatened Amazon and caused it to lose billions in value, fired everything that moves in the White House, spent over 100 million in travel expenses to the golf course. The point is governments dont seem to get things accomplished anymore. At least Minnis ain't spending up a bunch of money, yet, on failed, over priced on uncompleted project..aye

And the increase in non performing loans represent what is going on in the economy as a whole There has been a major slump in economic activity resulting in layoffs and increases in unemployment that was accompanied by serious spikes in the cost of living. These cost increases include gas prices and many food items. Water in the food store is now 5.50 a 5 gallon and milk and meat items have also shot up. And major corporations like BPL, BTC and others So, yes, more Bahamians are defaulting on loans because they are unemployed or their disposable income has decreased. But Bahamians are also learning that loans are not free money. In fact it is very expensive money. And many are learning how to stay away from the loans departments in this uncertain economy. Many are purchasing automobiles for cash and putting off the purchase of homes until they have down payments to purchase significant equity in them Better to purchase a home later and keep it than to start early and lose it to the bank after struggling to pay for many years.
