The first slave ship that left Africa laden with slaves was named ‘The Great Ship Jesus .’ So you can imagine the stories they told those free Africans, soon to be slaves (or dead) to get them on that boat (call Jesus of Lemuch.’ O how have things changed since then!
Like was stated earlier : IF murders are down by 39 or 45 percent and police involved killings are up 300 or 400 percent, there is NO net decrease in homicides. And when the public or the family of a victim killed by the police have a different account of how a person was killed then there should a proper investigation and a proper inquest. The commissioner of police admitted that the police cannot investigate themselves. But there has to be proper investigation and accountability and trust of the police. Everyone wants crime, especially murder to decrease. But they also want the war on crime to be genuine and follow due process. How many of the 57 arrested in Grand Bahama has been charged thus far? Persons in authority should not put out statements to grab headlines and lead the public to believe a situation is worse that it really is. There is enough fallout when foreign entities put out these type statements against The Bahamas.
This OBan deal still stinks and Minnis keeps getting oiled. Minnis needs to get some more experienced minds to refine and fine tune the deal to prevent Bahamians getting screwed again. Twenty five pennies on the barrel will not hurt a five billion dollar refinery. And why do you have to ‘gift’ them the land (690 acres leased at a million a year????). Nd who knows what condition it will be in after they are done with it.
Seems like whenever the shootings of young men stop or slow dow all other mishaps that result in deaths increase. These include traffic accidents,, drownings (police didn’t say if foul play was suspected in this incident) industrial accidents and even suicide. O death where is thy sting....
So when they appoint them they call them diplomats. When the expell them, they call them spies. Eighteen countries expelling Russian diplomats in response to poisoning of former Russian spy and his daughter in Britain.
Conflict resolution... whether it is on the street, on the job or in your private home. No one wins when the conflict ends with the loss of life. And now children must bare the loss of both parents. Their loss is greater than anyon in this instance. Once a bullet leaves a gun, you cannot call it back. And if shots are fired and takes the life of a second person or even more, at least the shooter had time to think about what he was doing. One faith teaches their members against keeping weapons in the home because the best way to avoid using a weapon in a conflict is to not have one. And yes the topic is very debatable. Especially with the level of violence and home intrusions today.
So let’s see if I’m getting this right? Dr. Minnis and the FNM wants a forensic audit of the various government departments and prosecutions for persons who have abused their office and more specifically government funds but this rule will or does not apply to the AMMC? And if and when anyone tries to enforce the law they will be fired? Not unlike under Donald Trump?
All that is required for each Bahamian to become a millionaire is $400 Billion Dollars. And with all these multi billion dollar investments and natural resources in this country why is ninety percent of Bahamians saddled in personal debt and the national debt climbing towards 8 Billion dollars? Why are so many living below the poverty line? This fourth generation will not be broke.

If Minnis is so right and so ‘conscience clear’ about the firing then why not reveal the reasons and let the public make their own minds up about it.
