I have always maintained that unless and until there’s transparency and accountability in the police force and with its officers and all armed forces Alf all the officers of those forces, there will be a deep, black, dark hole that will severely hinder the fight against crime and the meeting of justice in this country. There have been too many instances where the actions of police officers, even some resulting in deaths of citizens and no proper investigation was done. At least no investigation that satisfied the appetite for justice among citizens and investigation that , at least, appeared to be independent. There have been too many instances where victims claimed they were beaten by police and forced into confession. Or the numerous and sometimes strong accusations of planting of evidence by police . An independent and proper investigation into the actions by police, especially , will not hinder their work, but force them to be more professional in the execution of their duties. Requiring them to be more accountable will make them operate within the law. Knowing they will have consequences for illegal and criminal activity will curb this behavior, Snd the public will also have to be on alert that they will have to pay the price of making false and libelous accusations against the armed forces

Persons who qualify for citizenship when they turn 18 were not deported unless there were some unusual circumstance. Mostly they were not allowed to get Bahamian passports, voters cards etc and had to live in this country, not as a citizen, but as an alien.

O, and by the way, Trump had also planned to send the National Guard into cities like Chicago and confront the ‘gangs’ in military fashion. After meeting with civil rights leaders, he agreed to stand down, but the violence across the US continues to escalate. The new phonemes are mass shootings ( where four or more are murdered) or accidental shootings, where persons going about their everyday business. Here the assassination style killings still continue.

Build a prison that the country can afford. One that has the essentials and is secure and moderately comfortable. Then build and add as the demands require such.

Again this government is following the misdirection’s of the fallen USA about prison. The US has the highest prison population in the world. Their parole system was introduced to reduce overcrowding and now our ‘mix up’ minister of national wants to introduce parole here. Not as a measure to reduce prison population but to deny inmates who have earned time off for good behavior from getting it. The US intention was to keep as many Black males as possible behind bars to take them away from families from societies and other institutions and make them dysfunctional. So they turned prisons into a lucrative, money making industry, building thousands of prison cells and loading them up with young , Black and Hispanic males. Thousands charged with minor offenses, like simple drug possession. Then when Obama became president, young men became motivated to go to college, to get better paying jobs and to avoid prison. And by the end of Obama’s term, the population in privately operated prisons were reduced by 50 percent. And guess what? A lot of these prisons were owned by the Clintons. Bill and Crooked Hillary. And Crookef Hillary had set a plan to build the prison population back up she had won the presidency. The Feds had already collected information on many young, Black and Hispanic males in cities like Chicago and Philadelphia from sources like Facebook. And Crooked Hillary had planned for the national guard to round up these young men and pile them into prisons. With no specific charges initially but eventually finding charges to put on them. But Crooked Hillary was beaten at the polls and will never, ever, ever see the White House, inside or out, as president. And so America’s prison population continues to decline and dwindle. Here it is increasing simply because the policing system is wrong. The Bahamas adapted a lot of American policing strategies and tactics that were generated specifically towards Black people. The intent was not to meet out justice and protect the innocent, but to ensure that as many as possible end up in prison and behind bars. Remember There was always a war going on. War on drugs, war on terrorism, war on immigration war, war war. And probably in ignorance, The BaHAMAS, formally a peaceful and loving nation, declared war on its young, black men. The casualties continue to pile up.

Apparently they out to remove culture and norms under the disguise of protecting children. Young boys ( and girls now) packing groceries in the food stores or helping with chores on the family islands are as old as tradition. It is a part of shaping and forming young people into mature, responsible and industrious young adults. Young boys who pack groceries in the store or children who help their parents peddle items such as fruit and vegetables and newspapers ( though not as much of that today) always tend to be more astute in maths, more disciplined and frugal when it comes to handling money and basically more mature than children who didn’t get that experience. Likewise on the family islands where little boys as young as 10 know how to skull a boat or fish or take care farm animals and crops. Whose idea is it to meddle with something that isn’t broken and not leave well enough alone.

Aqua Pure says no increase in 15 years so how did a 5 gallon of water go from $3.50 to almost $$7.00 in recent times. Lake around the Covid pandemic? Was all this increase at the retail level?

Munroe seems to have come into his own in terms of maturity and being proper and politically correct when making public statements. Sometimes an open Mike is not always kind to those who dare approach it.

One doesn’t realize how stupid or futile an idea sounds/is until you hear it coming from the other side. A psychologist says rape is akin to murder because something dies in the victim when they are raped, especially in a violent situation, and most victims spend the rest of their lives trying to recover and/or to forget the incident.

FOUR people shot in a matter of days in the US when they mistakenly rang the doorbell at the wrong house, drove up in the wrong driveway by mistake, three girls coming from cheer leading practice approached the wrong vehicle and two were shot. Another vehicle was fired on in a separate incident and a a female occupants died from gunshot wounds. Here in the Bahamas was also a bloody and tragic period following Easter where five or six persons lost their lives in a matter of days. Post Covid Syndrome? Or Long Covid? Experts warned it will happen. Increase in violence, depression, increasing mental and medical problems and anti-social behavior
