I dont know why the government is playing this blind eye toward these web shops It is a monopoly. And now to consider Bahamians gambling in casinos without fixing the main problem with these Webshops, more hell is only going to break loose. Its seems that since these casinos are now interested in online/app gaming, the PM is now reconsidering the legality of the webshops. We the People have voted against it and still it continues to thrive. A sign that this democracy is only for pretty. We the People are not being served efficiently by the present government. Unemployment continues to rise. No investigations into the mishandling and low payment of the Bahamians that do have jobs. Ever since the govt took office, all I have heard and seen was this all of a sudden new agenda to focus on investors, loans and not the people. Do we not know that country is in debt? Do we not know that the more we borrow the more these investors will be entitled to many forms of compensation? This country is a country for sale and already crumbling from all the personal interests of the govt. The foreigners are given chances to come here, buy our lands, and take our much needed jobs, because they are given better opportunities in their own countries and now have a chance to try and take over someone else's. This government finds it hard to invest in the people. They only want the cookies in the jar. That national training agency or whatever it is called was a poor way to spend more money instead of focusing on the development and expansion of BTVI. They are only concerned about the cover of the book, but if anyone dares to read they wouldn't find anything because much of the information that the people need to know is not being accurately given in all aspects/areas of this society.

give all unregistered a big ride back, it will be one of the best investments. im talking flights out everyday, raids on unauthorized dwellings etc. i dont care if their airports are flooded with all the 'refugees' that we send back so that haiti can see how they are infecting and degrading other countries because of their lack of concern for their own people. let them deal with it, while we wash our hands. this is out of hand.

The Haitians that come/came here looking for a better life picked the wrong place on the map. Life is not good here for Bahamians alone so how is it that you think life will be better ? hmmm, it must be because of our 'selective enforcement' and carelessness toward serious immigration reform and land piracy. Its too late to change the law now, especially with 50k+ Haitians roaming around and/or living on untaxed lands/shanty towns. I mean you already brought the dengue fever, in soon enough time it will be scurvy etc and more diseases as a result of poor sanitized living. Life is simply free here for them whilst they take advantage of the jobs that the Bahamians seem to have too much pride for. The Bahamas will soon become a little Haiti. Stop feeling sorry for those that break the laws and enter our dwellings without consent. send them back cold turkey! We do not have anything like the 'Cuban Refugee Adjustment Act' here although it would not hurt to say that we do because it is obvious that the government rather push this one under the rug as another problem that has become to great to fix in a 5 yr term alone.

Repost: Perhaps later on in the years, the Bahamas will consider being consumed by America and become an 'Unincorporated Territory' like Puerto Rico & the Virgin Islands. There is no excuse as to why we should not. We are not even technically regarded as being located in the Caribbean. I think it would be better than being independent because our independence shows that we are very dependent and our people, the citizens are suffering, while our lands and jobs are being bought out by foreigners because too much of our Bahamian dollars are spent paying back loans rather than investing in the well being of the people. Something to think about. Of course this will cause a governmental/parliamentary reform along with her majesty being removed as head of the state while we welcome Uncle Sam and strengthen the western hemisphere. Only then can I see the Bahamas actually moving forward, it has been 40 years too long dealing with the same aristocrats and this kleptocratic system.

This is wayy to much debt for such a small country. What the hell is going on ? Who is monitoring the spending of our homelands money (if we have any), and who is monitoring the loan system? Who is going to pay this all back ? The citizens of course, there is much more than meets the eye with this new tax system. All the foreigners lavish while all the citizens suffer. Someone raise the Jolly Roger on the side of that National Flag. "Expulsis Piratis Restituta Commercia!"

I dont think Mr Christie would even dare to define Mr Nygards affidavit as false because it was filed for Nygard's own lawsuit against rival Mr Bacon. If he throws a blind-eye toward this it would be because the so called 'Stem Cell Research' that has been the headline of this country, will of course be in jeopardy hence giving the current government another bad reputation. The Stem Cell was not even apart of the agenda as I can recall. It only became top priority since Nygard agreed to donate his $5 million. In darkness their will always be light.

JohnDoes says...

Yep, couldnt agree more. Mr Christie has been exposed and seems to be stalling on setting the record straight because the record has been broken.

Busted is correct! Prime example of how the govt is more concerned with who has the deepest pocket rather than the people and their current state of life in the Bahamas. The people, citizens I should say, are like modern day slaves in their own country. Burdened with high living expenses with little to no income. When those trusted to lead and govern jump and skip to the highest bidder we wonder why there is not enough money in the treasury... that's because we focus on investors and substantial amounts of loans then while those responsible sit in their offices making hefty cheques, the people are backburned, pushed away from land and business ownership then introduced to a new tax system that increases their expenses from the already expensive bill to live while living the worst.

Hmm, I wonder if this is retaliation from the landlords who cant get the immigrants out after eviction. I hope no one is injured or dead.
