That, by the way, is not our problem. When we can harvest and package and distribute salt from Inagua instead of send 500 pound bags to Florida for "processing" then we can talk about independence.
Exactly. It is amazing that some of the commenters on here are still blindly following government insanity worldwide. I wonder how many years of mask wearing and lockdowns would it take to convince them that those things don't work? And the vaccines - well, first of all we need to stop calling them vaccines. They are injections of who knows what. I wonder if these people continue to take their car to the same mechanic over and over and over and over again? Car cuts off after it gets hot, like after 20 minutes. Take it back to the mechanic. He fiddles with some wrenches - happens again. And again. and again. and again. but don"t worry -that mechanic will fix your car......someday.
Could the UN please hurry up and approve shanty towns in the Bahamas and make our laws here formally approve them? I know some people living in their cars who would love to be able to get some land and put up a shack to have a bit more room - at least for a mattress. Tings rough man, and police dem aint letting no Bahamians build in Andros - only dem other set.
It will of course depend on who those business owners voted for in the last election (determined by the numbers on the ballots of course) - as to whether or not they will "be selected" for a shutdown for a Covid cleaning. A few of those will ensure failure. You know that virus is kinda sneaky, he is even travel with watch on he wrist boi.
The war on Grand Bahama, started by Mr. Pindling with his "country within a country" speech - still wages on. The Port Authority is still owned by white people - and so there is your answer. Anyone who thinks otherwise must have just arrived here from another planet. I've observed this war, cannon ball by cannon ball since the 1970s. Nothing new. Remember when Kelly's stuff was held up in Customs for all those months? They will find anything they can to sink Grand Bahama - even if it means having to raise VAT to 20% to cover for the lost Treasury revenue. Cutting off their nose to spite their face is standard procedure in Nassau.
You know, ProudLoud, if Tucker Carlson says that the sun rises in the east - that does not cause it to suddenly start rising in the west. If a moron tells you that keeping your car tires inflated to the right pressure saves on gas - that doesn't mean you should run outside and let 20psi out of your tires so they are half flat. When this is all over and it is revealed how many millions of people died simply because they were denied HCQ and Ivermectin, the court trials will begin. Many countries in Africa have fewer than 200 deaths, some have less than 50 deaths due to Covid and that is simply due to HCQ being normally taken for Malaria. It is amazing that people (like you) would allow innocent people to die just out of spite for Donald Trump. Now everyone who wants to survive by taking HCQ is a Trump supporter - most people don't even follow politics that seriously and could not care less about Trump or Biden or any of them - but if they are sick, they would like to have some medicine. If someone breaks their leg nowadays, do they have to wait for the bone marrow vaccine - or are we still allowed to put casts on broken limbs?
They talking about the nurses who after they graduated in 2009 had their lunch vouchers canceled right away but had to wait many months for their first paycheck? Those nurses? Or is it the group if nurses a few years ago that govt outright even refused to meet with? Ot is it the nurses who the Bahamian people every five years force to work under either an FNM or PLP govt? Now those voters have no nurses and i say didnt they know thats what they were voting for?
We need VAT. The exemptions to VAT need to be canceled and it reduced to 10%. It's the only tax that illegals and under the table people pay. Why should they not pay? Also havent you noticed more Bahamians questioning govt spending and natural resources etc ever since it affects their pocket? Reform govt waste THEN reduce VAT to 7% and lower. Reform must come first. If you remove VAT then the people dont care about reform. Oh yeah, and be sure dont vote for no independent candidates, they have no experience in tiefin. LOL. Someone told me they were inexperienced, im guessing thats what they meant?
