proudloud - it seems when it come to Biden and the election or just Biden himself, there is no evidence of anything. Those who speak about it are always reported on CNN etc as "claiming without evidence." The courts won't accept any cases so that evidence can be heard - so that kinda helps the narrative that there is none.

I'm sure Russians that try to sue the Russian government are dismissed similarly, and I would not even mention North Korea. Can you imagine a NK citizen trying to bring any action against the government there? LOL. Seems like USA is following suit. If you have a disagreement or have witnessed any kind of corruption then keep you mouth shut. I guess that's part of that "new normal" we've been hearing about.

How many Lyford Cary home owners have died? Could it be ZERO? Could it be much ado about nothing?

Why won't anybody report on WHY this Covid problem is not a big problem in Africa? Why not Africa? You would expect it to be a big problem there - but it is not. Why? Of course, we can't report why because then we would lose our medical license.

JokeyJack says...

You make a good point - but we (and the rest of the world) are operating with the philosophy that "if we can save one person, from dying from Covid-19, then it is worth it."

Unfortunately, the first "it" is never fully explained. What lengths are we willing to go to in order to save that one life? Are we willing to destroy our entire economy? Are we will to have unemployed person relocate wherever they can find jobs and be loathed to return to their original jobs once things "return to normal"? So then we will have to train new workers for so many positions and take a drastic cut in productivity? Are we willing to make very very serious dent in the education and social development of our young people? Are we willing to accept an increase in spousal abuse and drug abuse and suicide?

What are we willing to accept, to save that "one life"? If we all die in the process from suicide and starvation and other maladies (such as untreated cancer and kidney disease) then how will those few people who we "saved" from Covid survive? Will they get together and take over the food stores and the shipping industries and the farms? Will they find the manuals that they can read to understand how to operate power plants and water pumps? How will those 3 or 4 million people survive after the rest of us 7.996 billion people have all died?

This sounds like a really good thing (for once) from our government. Congratulations. i generally hate to say anything good about any government (as my readers can testify), but fair is fair. If pressed, I would have to congratulate the Devil for the intensity of his flame - congrats where congrats are due.

"Both bodies also pointed to the Corporation's alleged "failure" to complete and negotiate industrial agreements with each of them, as well as "unilaterally varying the terms and conditions of the industrial agreement with respect" to accrued vacation and "transferring day workers to shift workers without consultation and agreement". "

As I posted on the other related article, the union is WRONG to make these demands at this time - BUT the government is wrong to have allowed this situation to fester to this degree where now amputation may be the only medical solution. We have been hearing about long time un-renewed industrial agreements with so many unions for years and years now. The government kicks the can down the road in renegotiating new agreements and often times appears to treat the unions (and even non-union employees) with a total lack of respect.

If they had played fair ball throughout the years, then they would have built up trust and a relationship that could withstand these hard times. However, they have arrived at this ballgame with a deflated ball. As always, it boils down to a war between the haves and the have-nots with the church sitting on the sidelines convincing the have-nots that God said they need to reproduce more have-nots. It would be comical if it wasn't so serious.

Good point, BUT - if the government dealt with the unions in a respectful manner during the "good" times instead of ignoring them and kicking cans down the road - then perhaps they would have built up some respect which they could call upon now. However, what the unions are experiencing from government is nothing different from what they ordinarily experience - so there is no trust, no goodwill.

Looks like Covid-19 is the gift that keeps on giving. Not only has this virus cured the common cold which scientists have never been able to do (notice nobody dies from pneumonia this flu season) - but now it is about to bring fiscal responsibility to the Bahamas. I say Hats off to the Corona Virus !!!! It's a miracle worker.

"Aragonite, standing alone, is not a viable prospect at this time. It has to be mined and we all know that the Bahamian economy is challenged big time."

We have heard this said over and over, however, nobody seems to be informing the ships that are said to be out there night and day scooping it up off of our ocean floor. They say they've been doing this for years.

Perhaps we need to take up a collection in church to help pay for the fuel bills for these ships and the salaries of their crew? I mean, since they are dealing with a non-viable resource, surely they are not making any money - and perhaps they need our help. We should help them. It's the Christian thing to do. I would even pass the plate around a second time this Sunday. Give generously Bahamians !!!!!

Wow, I am delighted to know that Mr. Bodie has now become aware of the existence of Crown Land (by any other name) and has come to hold the view that it should be owned by Bahamians. This is fantastic. An old saying says "Better late than never."

Perhaps he can use his radio show and his contacts to put together a movement for this to happen. Call upon a few other activists. Get up a website. Mention the website on his show. Get the ball rolling. Good stuff here.
