Mr Roberts, recognising that you believe is dignity, responsible behaviour as you went at great lengths to explain on ZNS with reference to damaging party posters I am perplexed (not really) why suddenly after 4 1/2 years you are suddenly concerned about our poor Bahamians who have struggled with High electricity and interest rates for the entire term of the PLP government and suddenly promise to give away free electricity and cap interest rates. Is it possible that this is just an election promise ? No a man of your integrity would never do that----would you ?
What nonsense for a country deep in debt. As for electricity bills down by 40% that is not reflected in my bill. Mr Miller owes over $100,000 on two properties but surely he is not in the lower income bracket ?. The reality is that this is simply vote catching rhetoric and if ever implemented would be reserved for the favoured few at the expense of the rest of the public PLP and FNM.
Just totally unbelievable that even Perry Christie could suggest such a hair brained scheme. The threshold before you pay the higher rate is 200KW hrs and that is almost impossible to achieve .But why bother even trying to rationalize this nonsense as like most of the empty promises they will be forgotten in the unlikely event that this Government gets re-elected.
As always blame your failings on someone else " pre dates this administration". You friggin idiot ,you have had 4 1/2 years to take care of these and many other matters so the blame lays with your governments shoddy ways.
I think he has finally had a visible mental breakdown, and what is even more unbelievable is that some gullible voters will believe his nonsensical statements. Amazing that today just before the election a new basketball court is being opened in Wems Bight, after almost 5 years in office ??. This country is so deep in debt that any re-elected government will struggle to do anything positive bar pay down the debt. If free electricity is the latest election gimmick then we all need to leave before the Bahamas goes the way of Venezuela. Bar living with one light bulb and a 12" black and white TV I am at a loss of how I lower my exorbitant electricity bill and this iMarch.
Calling and institution a University does not make it a University, Bamsi is a disaster and produces nothing that the experienced old time farmer cannot produce. And added to that all these so called acomplishments have been done by borrowing in excess of VAT revenue and plunged the country into almost unsustainable debt. Yes the defence force is doing a great job of protecting our fishing grounds but what about all the missing funds from various government departments for which there is no investigation, no prosecution and no explanation ?
As I frequently mention the public tends to forget the raft of other less obvious taxes. Stamp Tax on accounts, VAT on accounts, Hazzard disposal tax (the dump) on and on. It wouldn't be so bad if something constructive was done with this money that conveniently disappears into the consolidated fund but nothing is done of any worth such as paying down the national debt (not deficit), replacing aging power stations, providing reliable water supplies, fixing the roads.
