Granted Minnis does not have the leadership qualities and oratory skills of Christie but despite all the hot air and lies perpetuated the country is in a dire financial mess and God help us when oil prices rise. The average grass roots Bahamian has little real grasp of what is happening and can be swayed by free tee shirts, beer and chicken and accepts placidly the frequent power outages, lack of water, potholes in the road and much more. Its almost like the USA where the public had a choice between two unpopular figures . All politicians worldwide are power hungry ,why else would you accept a job that pays much less than you could get in the private sector ?
Quite right. Minnis needs to get down to hard hitting facts about this present government and some clear policies that an FNM government would implement. Mind you the word accountability is like latin to the majority of our people. School tuck shops, Home comings, fund raisers and the government seem unwilling to publish accounts even when it is public money.
I tend to disagree. The next elected government has to either do some severe financial restructuring and that includes layoffs from the bloated civil service and risk not being re-elected or carry on as before and risk downgrading, devaluation and hyperinflation. If the FNM have such a plan then they would be well advised to keep it under wraps until they are elected.
Remember George you were alive well and kicking in the Norman Cay days . What will the your party do if it wins the next election that it should have done years ago to stave off downgrading, reduction in national debt and possible devaluation ?
So true, every day we hear this monotone delivery advert on ZNS about how poor he was and education whilst the PLP attempt to advertise his failures. Minnis needs to get aggressive, hammer home the fine details about what affects most of us every day such as food prices, lack of basic medical supplies ,state of roads, political favouritism with jobs, taxes. He has so much ammunition to hammer home on every point

This is just typical of the way finances are run in this country , no advance thought, no consideration of losses to businesses. Just typical.
