In Canada and USA they are now making money out of it quite legally. We spend money tracking it down and then burn it.

We are truly the stupidest of the stupid.

Funny how in the Bahamas, what is considered normal everywhere else, is considered "impossible".

Hey, genius, all you have to do is withhold it from their salary. Like everywhere else. What are they gonna do? Strike? Who would notice?

A quick DNA test could establish with 99.99999% accuracy whether they are brother and sister, or not. But no, far better to talk complete crap for months on social media. Distracts from other, much more real, problems.

I have an idea how to climb that ladder 50 places in one fell swoop: fire everyone in the civil service, replace with no one. Just leave empty chairs.

Problem solved.

How supposedly intelligent people can be so "street unsmart" is beyond me. How come GC has none of these problems? Because no one has the guts to say boo to the UK.

While any asshole can kick the Bahamas with total impunity.

Enjoy "independence".

OldFort2012 says...

Not so much a question of laws (any asshole can put ink on blank paper, as is proven here endless times per day) as the enforcement of those laws. GC is sovereign UK soil. If the shit really hits the fan, everyone knows a guy will come from London and sort it out. Here? No one has a clue.

"I think it's an assault upon the sovereignty of the country."

Small countries have sovereignty in name only. Our neighbors can flick the switch at any time and our lights go out, permanently. This is why I was and remain against "independence", because it is nothing of the sort. Our "independence" has led to nothing but corruption, nepotism and the incompetent ruling over the uneducated and gullible. The Caymans have none of our problems. I wonder why?

This is very hard to understand for a Bahamian, almost impossible for anyone looking in from outside.

You delegate one or two police officer to check in detail the records of his claims: the schools, the hospital, the friends and relatives. You produce a dossier and you present it to the Minister of Immigration. If he is who he says he is, you regularize his position. Immediately. If there is not enough evidence, you deport him. Immediately.

It cannot possibly take longer than a week. Either way, what they are doing to this guy is not how you or I would want to be treated. You cannot leave someone in limbo for years and destroy their life just because you cannot be bothered to do a thorough job.

I have never laughed so much in my life. People, Bitcoin is a digital currency. It does not exist in physical form. There is no Bitcoin coin or note. It only exists on a digital ledger. I congratulate the police on finding something that does not exist in physical form. They should contact all the other police forces of the world to boast how they are the first to have ever found Bitcoin in a house.
