We need more golf courses.
Progress. High water use and lots of pesticides and herbicides. The fish and conch love that runoff concoction.

Mr. Young, it takes a truly superb education to make such ridiculous statements as you do.
Does the term colonialism mean anything to you?
How about the well documented Diego Garcia crime against humanity by Britain?
How about Britain's treatment of Julian Assange?
Or, how about the Balfour Declaration?
Do you know how many innocent Muslim women and children have been killed by British forces in the illegal wars against Iraq, or Afghanistan?
But, no expectations of blowback?
As if these people have no gripe or complaint against the imperialist nation of Britain?
Your grasp of history is self serving and selective indeed.
Shameful that people with any ability to think would listen to your ignorant renditions of history.

The Bahamas National Trust is there to accept "donations" for approval to do business, and take what they want, from The Bahamas.
They are a rubber stamp organization.
With all the available science in the world, why haven't they stated the obvious in countering this drilling for oil scheme in The Bahamas?
Someone in the Trust must read, right?
No ambiguity in the scientific literature.
But there is in BNT's office.
Now ask yourself why.

Totally agree with the horrible driving skills in Nassau. And, it endangers us all. We don't seem to care about human life in the least, do we?

The police have limited resources. Instead of having police time and resources taken up by focusing on victim less crimes, such as arresting people for small amounts of marijuana, why not focus on protecting the rest of us from true criminals? We have got to radically change our policing priorities. Stop violence, first and foremost. If you have done a good job at that, Mr. Dames, than by all means start moving on to the other "lesser" crimes. Is not smoking weed a lesser crime than robbing and stabbing someone? You do have a choice, Mr. Dames. You are just failing to use your head.

Yes Mr. Dames, the law is the law.
As if, there are not hundreds of laws on the books that you ignore daily. Just look at Nassau roads. Is this a joke. What happened to intelligent policing that works with its community?
Why is everyone your enemy, and not people just like yourself. Perhaps if the police quit their criminal ways, the rest of us would take your "laws" more seriously.

observer,
Thanks for pointing out what must be said.
Finance has taken over the world and essentially wrecked the place.
The documentary, Inside Job, exposes much about the world of finance focusing on the 2008 recession and how nothing has changed since then. Finance should be a not for profit enterprise to further trade and production. As should banking. We have allowed finance to bring the world to its knees. The lack of understanding due to a poor education is not limited to The Bahamas. "It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning." Henry Ford.
