What is the plan for all the major hotels on Grand Bahama that are still closed, as is the island's only casino? They keep pretending as if that island has actual beds for heads in any large number.
These soundbites have quickly become the theater of the absurd. The "sheriff" in our constitution is the Commissioner of Police, and at the end of the day, we can all forget about any information being turned over to him about the real big wigs. A bone might be thrown of a small fry getting arrested and then nothing much happens afterward, but the giants? Safe and sound they will be.
These are men who have wanted these positions for five years and now that they have them, we can see that no real work was being done to ready themselves for them.
> THE economic plan being chartered during the ongoing 2017-2018 budget debate aims to stabilise the country’s finances, Deputy Prime Minister K Peter Turnquest said yesterday
> He said currently there is no budget for the anti-corruption commission and at this stage the government is unsure how many persons will make up the board.
No one will make up the Board, as there would be no budget to create a commission. If this was a legislative plan ahead of time, why was funding not rationalized and included in the budget for new financial year? How was this something you touted for years, yet now it is clear you never actually thought this thing through even on the most basic level of how it would be administrated?
