This occurred at 1:00am... the dude was most likely completely drunk. And if he was from Mississippi -- then he was definitely completely drunk!!

One strategy: We need to immediately get aggressive and start to remove all of the guns from the population. How? It could be done in steps. For example: step 1) offer a "cash for guns" promotion for the next 3 mos; and then step 2) once that expires, then give the population 3 more mos to turn in any guns remaining; and finally step 3) once those two 3-month periods of time have passed -- if you are found with a gun, instant jail time. And lastly, in tandem with step #3 -- you could offer a Reward to the public if someone turns in a person that is known to still have a gun. That might help motivate the public to start turning folks in that still have a gun hidden at home or in their car.

It's hard to believe that we are actually living in 2024 instead of 1954. In fact, this particular news story might be more embarrassing than the 20+ murders we've encountered so far for '24. Who the holy HELL does this Film Control Board think they are??????

ScubaSteve says...

This is absolutely unbelievable and unacceptable!! Are we living in 2024 or 1954? The solution is simple -- the Govt needs to purchase whatever piece of equipment that is necessary to process these rape kits. In fact, buy at least 5 of them and let's help protect the women of our country and ensure we can put the criminals behind bars. This isn't hard to figure out!!

ScubaSteve says...

Exactly!!!! The real and easy solution is to remove guns from the streets. It's really as simple as that...

two months?!?!?!?!?!?? What in the holy hell is going on? If I walk in to a bank and have $1,000 in cash to open a business bank account -- it should only take them 15-20 minutes to open the account. This is absolutely ridiculous and appalling.

It isn't a "requirement." It's more of a "suggestion" or recommendation. The IMF does this type of analysis on most countries and it serves as an outside source of information and guidance. Rather than relying on internal fiscal studies, which could very easily be "biased" for political reasons based on which administration is in charge of the country at the time.

The solution to the problem you are describing is actually very, very simple. It's call FREE condoms, FREE birth control pills, FREE morning after pill, and how about FREE abortions. Boom... problem solved.

At the end of the day, does it really matter which party or whom is responsible? Not really. Instead, what really matters to most folks that have been impacted by this is that the issues and problems need to be fixed immediately. Why can't someone take charge and correct the issues at hand? Why is it so hard to be pro-active and have the foresight to plan and prepare for these potentials issues BEFORE they actually occur? Does anybody within the Govt have an education beyond the 5th grade????? This isn't rocket science and not hard to figure out.

This was exactly my first reaction as well... .how in the HELL could the writer of this article reference the fact that sales were down in the same sentence as the fact that a teenager was almost murdered? Incredibly insensitive and horrible journalism.
