only solution here is give them what they want then raise VAT another 3% to pay for it. And if they are not already, declare them essential service so they can't walk more than 24hrs.. As i recall Bahamasair used to be or still is a essential service according to them, no matter how ridiculous that sounds, so why not nurses?

because the audit findings have not been disclosed, we don't know yet if it was wasted money. we DO know that as far back as the dope commission of inquiry and Batelco and Bahamasair and now these, nothing useful has come from any of them despite the millions spent.

it might have been better if we remained a colony? we'll never know of course, but reality remains that the reliability of power supply is not better than other rubbish, 3rd world countries, despite the outrageous cost.

i agree with Butler, this might not be the best way. so one day sonebody going to check and see how much i drive my car to see if i'm running an illegal taxi service there too? there has to be a better, and just as, or more effective way, to fight this ting.

dont just be concerned about where the purchase money will come from, the fact that nobody wants to touch this with a 40 foot pole is because after you buy it, you will lose your ass operating it. so, if gov't buys, look for the national debt to continue to spiral hopelessly out of control..

Socrates says...

have to be concerned about the lack of specifics. i suspect, with all the add-ons contemplated, it is likely the average joe will see no measurable drop in his light bill. beside the legacy debt, infrastructural improvements required and not to mention multi-tens of millions of dollars to pay folks to leave, it seems a stretch that there could possibly be a drop....

i think it fair to say, he is probably not the only incompetent one flying around the Bahamas. problem is we won't know who the others are until we read about them too one day in the papers.... apparently, mostly good weather and sunny days are covering up for many of these deficient individuals.

this initiative will require money and skilled personnel, both of which are very much in short supply locally based on what we have read in the press after past incidents. seems to me, since most, if not all, of these pilots and aircraft are registered in the US, it would be far cheaper and much more effective to simply report these people to the FAA, who do not know them, and would have no reservations about revoking the pilot's licence and aircraft registrations as allowed by federal regulations...

the bazaar is truly a sad story. i knew Freeport in the glory days of the early 70s.. this place was like the 1st world and Kings Inn and Princess hotels nearby, it was something to feel good about.. too bad we hit the skids...

i'm with Butler on this one.. Bahamasair probably owes millions and what about the shop tenants, etc. no problem with chasing people who owe you money, just be fair and chase all and threaten all equally..
