to say a pay rise will stymie corruption is foolishness.. the corrupt will be so regardless.. more relevant is that only cabinet ministers are fulltime employees.. the rest do this as a hobby.. show up when the house meets if you feel like it.. walk in and out when in session as you like.. remember Treasure Cays attendance?.. no pay rise necessary. plus, they get pensions too for parttime work..where does the excess end?
this is not new.. we are a country of show and no substance.. fire engine should be working for bahamians too.. its a safety thing.. gov't continues to fail in their responsibilities.. its a disease in this country...
the man is saying if either of your parents is Bahamian, then so are you. sounds like sense to me. how could you only be a Bahamian if your daddy is one? what rubbish in the 21st century...
chipping away? man they should use a hackhammer.. Mitchell needs to keep quiet.. its distressing to those affected but reality is people lose jobs all the time.. read the papers, watch bloomberg television.. in the same way free enterprise creates jobs, they also cut them. such is life..
look at our Bahamas .. used to look down on our caribbean neighbours, now using them as a benchmark to measure progress.. my how the mighty have fallen..
no action taken? man they would have wiped out this man and his family and all that would result in is more headlines in the papers about the murder count countinuing to rise.. we all need to carry guns and take responsibility for our own protection.. why? because the bad guys are already packing....
if you dont intend to operate a taxi service, you do not need a plate.. what rubbish, i get the plate just to sublet it to someone and take a fee? sheeprunner is right, the taxi business is a national embarrassment.. no standard look, no standard of equipment, etc. needs to be totally destroyed and start over...
Freeport must be declared a economic free zone, free of taxes, etc. the destruction of the city post 1970 is indesputible and it cannot continue as a ghost town.. remove taxes, attract industry, create job opportunities.. these free zones exist successfully worldwide, why not here?
an example of how lacking a safety culture is in the Bahamas workplace. one would assume that prior to operating the truck, safety procedures would require the operator to ensure the lift is not in the up position.. avoidable expense...
