Hanna-Martin does not have to be "outraged". Nottage, the Minister responsible, need not be "surprised". Stop talking and do something for heaven's sake. They have the POWER to transfer, fire, demote or do whatever else they wish with this man. If not them, then who?
interesting.. so how do we reconcile this report, which is not news to most anyone who has been in the Bahamas more then 1 week, with the high labour costs we keep hearing so much about? no skills but high labour costs? sounds like out of control Unions and dumb management who dont have the spine to say your workers aren't worth what you are asking? always been a problem in this country.. the idea you should be paid according to the cost of living and nothing to do with you knowledge/skills or what a job is worth..
i dont support gambling, but reality is we live in what is generally regarded as a free society currently, where citizens and residents are free to make any lawful decision they wish. are we proposing some fascist, dictatorship or strong-man government who would be making all our decisions for us?
unfortunately all the 3rd world former british colonies in the west have become economic failures due to everlasting imcompetent governance. we will end up on the doorstep of the IMF, only a matter of time. what an utterly disgusting and depressing thought...
another classic example of a civil servant drunk with power. how the hell has the bahamas deteriorated to this level where the freedom to dress as u like within the law, is under threat? what next? this type of ultra-conservative islamic type mentality is a threat that needs to be challenged.
another waste of money govt entity.. how can such a small country afford a Defence Force for heaven sake.. btw, it should be called what it really is, Bahamas Coast Guard...
you talk about the $140mil thrown at BOB, dont forget the $600mil at Bahamasair plus the additional $100mil just recently for the new planes... talk about wasting money....
BIG government.. a recipe for financial ruin. even the oil rich middle eastern countries like Saudi Arabia understand that cradle to grave socialism does not cut it anymore.. times change and we in this country have to understand that be prepared to adapt...
it might be painful, but this is the kind of thing that has to happen if government debt will ever decrease. somebody has to pay, there is no free lunch.. gov't can't support all these laggards like BPL and Bahamasair..
