These World Bank people have got to be joking. There is nowhere in the world that it's easier to open a business than the Bahamas. Here we have the Bahamas Investments Board - which handles all the details for you. Here we have the sun, sand, and sea as well - and that helps. Have they ever come here and opened a business????? No. I'm sure they haven't. So they are talking about something they don't really know about. If they were to come here and open a business - I am sure their feeling would change.
From the time they land at the airport, it would be no more than 21 days until their license is in hand. That is the norm that I have heard. Land registration is also a piece of cake here. All properties have been indexed in the central computer and so ownership is not even a question.
As for Komolafe's license plates, I would suggest she be grateful she has a vehicle - while many are taking the bus. Thank God for life. Get over it. Sand, sun, and sea - don't forget.
Neither the management nor the union should have to "beg" in this country. Remember PM Pindling said that we have "our birthright." We have that for sure. We are not beggars. We are the envy of the world. People all around the world pay top dollar to visit here, and many others pay top (and elsewise) to reside here.
In order to get either party back to the table, I suggest I nice rack of filet mignon - lightly seasoned with a top quality bernaise sause and a choice of either white or red wine - but a quality wine, not the cheap stuff.
I must agree with the government on this one. Whatever reason they had for closing these stalls (which was not disclosed in this article), I am sure was a good reason and was carried out in an organized and humane fashion. I don't know what this lady has to complain about? Our tourism sector is strong, and is the envy of the Caribbean. She should be glad to just be a part of it, in any capacity.
“We (at the Ministry of Health) are indeed devoted to improving and advancing the health and well-being of all persons in The Bahamas and to ensuring the highest quality of services for all citizens,” he said.
Absolutely, and I'm sure under Dr. Sands' watch the prevalence of diabetes will be seen to decrease during his tenure. We have brighter and healthier days ahead.
It is unfortunate that the men and the officers were involved in such a terrible event. I encourage Social Services intervention at an earlier age bracket, even more than they do now. In addition, more church attendance is required by our population in general. We must remember that Jesus came not for the righteous, but to bring sinners to repentance and we must continue to do His work.
I disagree strongly with the previous pundit. The national awards are necessary to inspire our children to seek greatness and be the best they can be in this country and beyond. We have recently replaced an old useless holiday with the new National Heroes Day. Therefore, we require more and more heroes to celebrate. The one's we currently have are quite sufficient - however, it would be unwise to suggest to the youth that they cannot someday become a national hero. These award ceremonies, although costly, are less costly than the alternative of our youth having nothing to aim for.
It is great to see the Central Bank playing an active role in ensuring the credit/loan situation remains well managed and that there is sufficient activity to maintain foreign reserves. From this article, I can see that things are well in hand and that recover - although affected a bit by Dorian - continues to take place in the Bahamian economy - and our ranking internationally will surely continue to move up.
