Yes, but instead of doing this - Bahamians keep giving money to the churches who are actively working to stop this education from taking place - because (they say) God made a mistake when he created our disgusting lewd bodies.
Tal - we need to organize a nationwide buying strike for July 9th. Nobody buy a damn thing that day (except bus money to get to work or urgent needed medicine). Pack a lunch to work. no money to be spent.
Get a bunch of people together too (like 100 cars) to drive SLOW along Bay Street and slow up the taxi drivers if they don't agree to strike.
This is a load of bull - and it's time to do something.
Refusing to spend money is a way of "doing" something without anyone knowing you are.
Can this be organized? Will people participate? Does anybody give a damn that we are sinking into the ocean?
So does this mean that Govt will start to keep pension funds, monies due for payments back to NIB, and monies due for payment back to IDB and IMF in separate accounts as well?
Or will they just continue to use the "general fund" - so called because it is accessible by all Party "generals". LOL.
Nothing can help "average" Bahamians - cause they too like belly-swell. If Govt created 50,000 new jobs over the next 9 months, the people would create 80,000 babies during that same time period. It is a losing game.
Adrian, it is not sinking due to a lack of care. however, it's downtrodden state does have a lot to due with the arrival of certain ships over the past several decades. You chose a good analogy.
So will the Chamber of Commerce organize with all Port Licensees (and any non licensees that wish to participate) - a general strike from Wed August 5th to Friday August 7th ???

Shut down the airport, the taxis, the hotels, even turn off the power if they can get it done. Shut the whole fricken thing down.
If Govt wants Freeport and the Port dead - then show them the body.
They report the murder rate - but how about the birth rate? Has that increased also? It is a balance you know.
The funny thing in this article is where it says Govt needs to create more jobs to combat the high number of youths out of work. really ????????????????????
If you keep finding tacks in your driveway every morning, and many times miss some that you try to pickup and end up with flat tires - is your ONLY solution to keep buying more and more expensive and durable tires?
Would anyone even THINK to consider "Where the hell are all these tacks coming from?"
